Give it a rest would you. No matter what Rafa or the Yanks say you and a few others on here continue to paint the most negative scenario imaginable. I bet if the Yanks offered Rafa a new 4 yr deal you'd still be harping on about some kind of conspiracy.

If you know you're company wants to get rid of you, you hold out for as much as you can get. If you say you want to extend your contract (if you work in such an industry), then all the better. It's a back me or sack me ultimatum.

The situation seems to be that Rafa is safe FOR NOW. That wouldn't be good enough for me if I were Rafa so this request may be a good way for getting things clear one way or another. I think that's a pretty reasonable interpretation, unless you believe that there is absolutely nothing to the recent reports of his position being less than secure, which I don't.
