Liverpool's new set of eyes and ears will put Benitez under owners' microscope

There will soon be more upheaval at Liverpool following the appointment of headhunters charged with filling a new staff job.

The vacancy is for an executive who will become the eyes and ears of the club's American owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks and report directly to them.

The search is being conducted by an American with an office in Holland who has had previous business dealings with Gillett.

The need for Hicks and Gillett to find someone within the Liverpool staff who they can trust doesn't augur well for chief executive Rick Parry, whose future at Anfield has been a subject of much conjecture.

Just came on to post this. Wait and see I guess but I doubt it'll be at the exense of Parry. Probably a replacement for Foster Gillett if he's as unsettled as has been speculated.

Not sure about this - if it will actually change anything.

If the rumours over the last month or so are true, then they could be getting rid of Parry.

Milky, just noticed....why doesn't the milky in your avatar get shagged rather than eaten - it would be better for all concerned? Or are you just fitting in with the doom and gloom hereabouts?

Every day a new statement. Somethings afoot and disjointed.

If this is the case and Parry's head is on the block then it would seem RAFA IS GOING NOWHERE.

Why? Because they want to employ someone? Every business employs people and it's customary to head hunt people when you're looking for somone high up the ladder. They don't advertise jobs like this in The Echo.

No doubt some will think there's a much more sinister motive behind it.

Hmm, I hope you're right. Still, and awful lot of press these days.

I'd certainly say something is happening. However I'm not sure it isn't a good thing. We couldn't go on with the situation as was with people not talking to one another enough and people, presumably on both (or should that be all) sides feeling misunderstood.

It would seem likely that Foster Gillet is now likely to be less involved.

I think we will have to wait until the end of January at the earliest to see how the dust settles.

Sandro Rosell would be a good choice IMO.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.
