This summer we sold the following players for a fee:

Florent S Pongolle £2,700,000
Danny O' Donnell £100,000
Luis Garcia Atletico £4,000,000
Djibril Cissé £6,000,000
Craig Bellamy £7,500,000
Mark Gonzalez £3,500,000
Gabriel Paletta £1,200,000*

How many seasons have we sold so many players and made so much money? Rafa got Torres with player sales and a CL final not from G+H.

In real terms we spent **** all mate and Bascombe was right, the loadsamoney stuff was absolute bollox.

Bascombe may have suggested Forlan but how do you know we didn't enquire? Forlan was a simlar price to the one we paid for Torres and Bascombe was really just saying that talk of £30M strikers must stop in the end Rafa raised enough to get Torres.

Bascombe was 100% right about us being skint compared to the noises that were coming out from G+H.

For a start those figures are from opinon as most of our business this summer was undisclosed as no one wanted the figures know. Also I remember reading that the CL money is not paid until the next season starts.

I don't care if you think net spend is bollocks because that is what we spent after we signed and sold some players.

You can't only count how much we spent and not count in the money we got back when we sold players like Bellamy for example.

I have to say that the truth is clearly more complex than either side want to portray. From G&H's point of view they paid back £45m of debt including the £10m to Moores for Kuyt and then we went ahead and made record buys in the summer.

The nett spend argument is hard to pin down as a/ we wouldn't see all of the nominal fees come back to us after agents etc. take their cuts and b/ there is the increased wages to take into account. In my opinion there was a step change in buying style and power this summer - when have we ever made two £10m+ buys in a summer? When have we spend £6m on a youngster who might not see much first team action immediately (Lucas)?

To me this "the Count was right and G&H have done nothing" argument is equally ludicrous as an exaggeration of what has happened as the claims that we are on a par with Man United in spending terms.

I also think that maybe we should look towards the old Arsenal model of spending rather than that of United as a realistic and sustainable one which we can move forward with. We can then spend more when a new stadium is available.

Your wrong on the tv money, that doesn't come until this season is over as it is based upon where you finish, the CL money is not paid until September from memory. This means this extra money he had to spend according to you he didn't have. So your opinion means ****, Moores would not have had that money to spend so we wouldn't have got Torres, Babbel, Lucas and all the kids.

If the CL money isn't paid until September then he could have counted them into the transfer budget anyway because he would know exactly how much we would get, and it's guaranteed money.

He would just take for example £20m from his own money in July and then get them back in September, guaranteed.

They have not paid the debts or the £10m to Moores themselves. They loaned money to pay the debts plus the £10m to Moores.

Been in about 4 qualityt papers this week, and also mentioned in Inside Sport - section of The Telegraph that Hicks and Tillis gave an interview to admitting the financial problems and that they want to refinance the purchase debt on the club.

What people don't get is that the debts that the club had would have been taken off the value of the club. G+H have also not invested a single penny of their own money yet. The transfer fees of the summer were also due to the new TV money, CL final and player sales.....

I am shocked ordinary intelligent people can't see that.
