Think you need to give this fans owning the club a miss.

Would never work in fact we'd be finished.
Would we all be picking the team in the pubs before hand.
It hard for say one owner who's a fan to not meddle in team affairs imagine a 1000 fans wanting thier favorite player to start

As for Moores he might not be the bussiness man in the same league as some of the names mentioned to buy the club - but although it was his grandad's legacy he's stil richer than 99.9% of us so he hasn't done that bad and proves he can run a business or attleast employ the people he can.
Whereas if the fans bought the club it would be CM gone mad.

      Gaz.

P.S. For those who think Moores is a **** business man should consider you don't get rich like he has by being a ******.
I thought he inherited it? Hardly rocket science!

maybe we couldnt buy the club but a quick whip around could get us 17 mill to buy Mascher

Yes Moores is a trust fund kid who inherited the littlewoods fortune. He does have his own buisness interests though. Top bloke by all accounts too.

              If 170,000 gave a 100 quid we'd have it

that easy - fans complain at the price of a 40 quid football shirt.

100 quid they get nothing that they don't expect anyway.

i think it is possible, just, 99.99% likely to fail. You would have to have a really good structure in place and identify exactly how you were going to approach it and allocate shares/powers/responsibilities to each person that invested. You also wouldnt just be able to go around with a charity pot saying please donate, a system would have to be put into place where a fan/investor guarantees money for x number of shares and that money is only debited once the overall total/target has been promised/guaranteed. Its tough and would definatley need a figure head (maybe an ex kop-hero).......

Would it count as 3rd party ownership if the fans bought him

Even if the structure were in place, we'd need to raise at least 500m, a staggering sum. Even if people put in £1000 each (unlikely), you'd need 500,000 of them to get the cash.

Would be fantastic if it could be done though.

Ok, so if we need £500m, then why doesnt someone set up a company selling off 50m shares (£10 each)? This gives enough scope for both the smaller and larger investors to get involved. A trusted ex-player could become chairman and we could appoint a board of directors.

If we dont buy out G+H (for whatever reason), then everyone gets their money back (plus interest - assuming the capital had been invested while waiting to see if we could buy or not).

The answer is yes. If you can put a couple of billion in, I found a fiver in my back pocket on Saturday night, and I'm sure there's a few others on this site would give you a few quid. Just trust us with the big decisions. Cheers.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

Off you go mate. I elect you to arrange it
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                              * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs
