    We should all stand together

There has been alot of negative reaction after the match and understandably so. Watching all the recent events and results and also hearing what others are saying, I think it is time for all of us to stand together...i mean the club, manager, players and fans.

    1) Club - Chairmen and CEO. I agree with what Alex Ferguson said a few days ago about how the Glazers have done the right thing by working and supporting the manager. Recent events have probably put unnecessary pressure on Rafa and the team as every draw/defeat is seen as adding 1 more nail to his coffin. Is this all helping? If they think we have one of the best manager around, then let's back him openly and see what he can do. Get the off-the-pitch issues right so that the rest of the club can concentrate on-the-pitch.

    2) Players - our squad is definitely good enough to challenge for the top 2 spots and on our day, we can beat anyone. We have proven it time and again and our performance against Chelski and Man U showed that we are more than a match to them. Is rotating or pressure affecting them? As some said in this forum, when you play for Liverpool, you have to live with the pressure or else you leave. People moan abt selection, tactics, etc but in my mind, the team we put up against wigan, birmingham, reading, etc were more than gd enough to win the game with all due respect to them. I do feel that our players often do not have the self belief to win games. When Arsenal is down, you can see that their players still play with the belief that they can turn it around.

    3) Fans - Alex Ferguson has just openly critisize his fans for being quiet in matches when players sometimes need a lift from their supporters and i think we the fans are guilty of the same offense. Anfield has been getting quieter, except for the odd big games and we have seen in recent times also boo-ing which i think it TOTALLY WRONG! Let's get behind the team, sing, make noises, etc....Let's play our part as the 12th man in EVERY GAME!! We expect players to show up every game and perform but us the fans show up only at big games! Come on guys, the team needs us, whether its against Inter or Derby!

    4) Rafa - This is the man that has worked his socks off transforming us to a level we are today from the depths of 2002. Despite all their sucesses, only Chelski has consistently made it into the last 8 or 4 in the CL in the last few years while we were in the final in 2 out of 3 years!! Yes, Liverpool is all about winning the league and i really want Rafa to be the man to being #19 home and i think he can if all of the above work together.
    We going to win #19th!!

It's a nice ideal, it's not realistic though.

In the perfect world, sure I would love Rafa to bring the title back to Anfield and sure we would love to support him and get behind him but we have to look at it realistically.

We are 12 points off the top. Our team looks very disjointed, lacking confidence and morale. Its everything a Championship winning side shouldn't have.

I still think we need at least another two seasons to be recognised as genuine title contenders. Next season will be the season where we are pipped by a crap result in April and then we can tie the laces and push on with the experience of the side and if Rafa is still in the job, he will have more know-how. Doubt anyone would agree with any of my points.

Let's face facts, it was he who started the childish tit-for tat with the owners. He moans about money yet doesn't utilise the £11m Babel bar cameo substitution appearances.

We're miles behind Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea. We can beat anyone? Well yeah, apart from Blackburn, Birmingham, Spurs, Wigan, Chelsea, Utd, Portsmouth and Arsenal. And if it's good enough, why are we well off the pace?

                3) Fans - Alex Ferguson has just openly critisize his fans for being quiet in matches when players sometimes need a lift from their supporters and i think we the fans are guilty of the same offense. We're nowhere nearer winning the league than when he took over. A brutal fact but true. Rafa will win you cups in Europe until they are coming out your ears. But you see, success is easier. Stifle the opposition away, get a draw, plan for a win at Anfield. Unfortunately, I don't want cups in Europe. As the great Shanks said, the league is our bread and butter.

It`s Ok for the rest of us to moan in public but our superhuman robotic manager shouldn`t.

Yes. We're not playing with millions of pounds. He is and is getting paid handsomely to deliver as a result. He's not though is he.

coming from australia, saw my first matches at anfield which were porto and bolton at home, stood on the kop and sung my heart out both times but those was a prime example of the poor atmosphere i thought

the porto game was a typical european night, the fans get behind the team, magnificent atmosphere and was quite amazing as it was my first anfield experience, the bolton game on the other hand was very poor, patchy singing despite getting an early goal, the atmosphere only picked up in the last 10 minutes or so when everyone once again showed their support of rafa.

just so glad i got to experience a european night as to be honest the atmosphere v bolton was rubbish

Sorry mate but our squad is not that good or maybe as good as we like to think it is.. There are too many average players and not enough match winners or players who can produce a match winning moment and that has been evident not just in the last couple of games-goalkeeping heroics notwithstanding but throughout the season. We havent beaten Man U for years in the league or beat other top 4 teams when it counts. I dont think we are too far away we need some quality on the wings, a CB and a partner for Torres. I also have real faith in our youngsters, the reserves are on top and we've won the last 2 cup finals so potentially we are on the way to building a very good squad.
"I watched the Champions League quarter-finals and the way they crushed Arsenal. Only the greatest and the best can play such a match.
