I don't watch every league so I cannot make a proper suggestion. Whose to say Rikjaard wouldn't do a better job. Roberto Mancini? Martin O'Neil? I really don't know. What I do know is that for a club like Liverpool we are continually underperforming in the PL.

Anyway, is Pako nice enough for you? He's going to be Mourinho's number 2

Yes, but I don't think the best manager in the whole world, whoever that may be, would be able to win the PL with the financial resources available at LFC, competing with Arse, Chav and Scum.

Well Wenger has done it on a lower budget than Rafa.
Mourinho won it with 89 million.
                    How much has Rafa spent?

So Rafa was acting with dignity and respect during his playground fight with the owners?
Rafa was acting with dignity and respect when he described Everton as a lesser club?

Regardless of the accuracy, he was being very disrespectful.

Wenger has had longer to implement his youth plan - this is what Rafa is in the process of doing with our academy and youth teams.

Do you think it is fair to compare the squad maureen inherited from Ranieri to the one Rafa got from GH? I don't think so, but people have different opinions.

As for amounts, ask some of the accountants on here, or AFII.

That is quite possibly true and I agree that our failures aren't just down to Rafa and the players. Liverpool continues to undersell itself and underachieve financially. Look at this webpage as a minor example http://www.thecloud.net/About-us/Our-World/Locations

Do you notice which big club is missing. Repeat such omissions time and time again and no wonder we don't have enough money to buy quality players.

He is not perfect, far from it. But I do think that he is a much more respectable man than many of his companions in the game.

Wenger must have implemented his youth policy pretty bloody quickly to win the double in his first full season

Mourinho WON the premiership with Ranieri's squad plus 89 million
He didn't JUST win the premiership, he won it with a record number of goals and a record number of points.
Rafa has taken Houllier's squad nowhere in terms of the premiership.

It's fair to compare them, Mourinho had a dramatic effect on Ranieri's squad, Rafa has had a moderate effect on Houllier's squad in terms of permiership performance.

Yes, Wenger is special. I grant you that. He won the double in the first season. Rafa won the CL, but he can't live on that forever.

Maureen, well, I think he is a good manager, but not world class. He is a cunt, so I wouldn't want him here, if that is what we are discussing.
But I think Maureens inherited squad, added with the measly 89 mill, was tons better than the team Rafa got in his hands then.

As I said to Al, I don't think even the worlds best manager could win us the PL in competition with the top 3 teams here, simply down to lack of financial muscle.
