Rafa has kind of made a mockery of his rotation policy of late. He claims to rotate to keep players fresh which is fine. However, what is the point of having fresh players when there is no possibility of winning the title come the second half of the season? There has been no proof in the past 4 seasons that it actually makes any difference whatsoever. I accept that all managers rotate to an extent, but rafa not only rotates players but also does so with drastic formations that have been shown to fail.
Furthermore, before the Wigan game, Crouch was arguably the freshest player available, yet he played the likes of alonso and pennant who are only recently recovered from injury? Where the hell was the rotation policy when it made the most sense to use it?
Discuss.
