Even the Journos on sky said we shouldn't have done it as it would set a precedent.

What an embarrassing thread. REALLY it is.

Forgive me, but hasn't it been a long-term tradition for the richer clubs to donate their share of the gate receipts to lower league clubs (when drawn)? A quick bit of Google grease shows that Chelsea (Chelsea, ****ing Chelsea all of all clubs) did when they met Scarborough in 2004. And i'm positive that ManU did the same, but the club they did it to escapes me.

All in all, this highlights what an utterly classless club we are in danger of becoming, and more worryingly, this thread highlights that fans are sheep and will wilfully follow in the club's 'new' direction.

All in all, it's very sad, nae, depressing!

The caveat of this story is that we are indeed in a financial mess and we can't even afford this gesture of good will so the decision is not one of our (lack of) class, but indeed one of necessity.

why should we give money to an adminitration that's loosing money just cos we're playing them or because they ask for it. IF they are about to be bought out why should we help sub it?

The fact its gone public shows what a PR stunt this is.

Luton will be better off for the fact we haven't given em the money as they now have the press sympathy.

There are loads of clubs with financial problems and might be wrong here but haven't we helped out Wrexham indirectly.

If we paid the players their wages I'd be for that. But then isn't the FA suposed to help out here.
If the FA can waste millions to managers that aren't managing the England team then shouldn't they be the ones helping out clubs.
Its times like these we learn to live again FF

So what would happen if we gave them the £100k and won the game?

That could be seen as a bribe.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

In football circles and in the early rounds it is almost expected Paul, like it or not. It's part of this so-called romance of the FA Cup.

I despise the fact some fans think our club can do no wrong at times... Rafa can do no wrong, Stevie can do no wrong, Parry can do no wrong. It stinks.!!!

Winning the league is a tough task, but having a modicum of class is easy. At least it used to be.

I think its a pity we couldn't help them out. We're certainly not obliged to but it wouldn't have killed us.

It's a bit of a PR disaster for us but they are cunts for publicising it so they get what they deserve in they end - nothing.

                              Hope we murder them today.

I saw one article claiming they are losing 400.000 pounds a month......thats 100.000 a week, so we would keep them a float for an extra week. And all this when we are having huge difficulties ourselves with raising funds for the stadium and players.
