    Opinions??

    I had a thought today.

Would anyone else on here rather see the money that's for the proposed stadium given to Rafa now to buy the players that he wants. I'm talking about the full whack as in £200-300 million or whatever and let him build a team that will bring us the league.

I know this may cause arguments but if I'm being completley honest I'd rather he got the funds to build a fantastic team now, let him buy the 5 or 6 top quality players that we need to complete the squad, the spine of the team is there already and we see Rafa can buy well with Torres.

I'd be quite happy staying at Anfield and not bothering with a new stadium. I know it's important for future funds to build the new stadium but don't you feel this would be a better idea.

We need a new stadium. Without it we will never compete. No one will want to give us money regulary to get new players every third/fourth year.
A new stadium has to be top priority for the club.

New stadium is a must. Not only financially but to solve a lot of the ticketing issues.

Football has moved on and unfortunately we need the stadium to compete so you've got to take the long term view- stadium for me.

New stadium is a must as has been said.

And if we want to compete right now then massive investment in team building in the short term is a must also. Else, we'll be progressing, but not as much for some of us. It would mean having unrealistic expectations in the face teams financially stronger.

I want to win the league as much as anyone, and 300mill would guarantee that in the short term, but we really do need the revenue that a new stadium will bring us so nice thought but im gonna have to pick the stadium.

United have been doing both. Investing into their stadium and investing in team building.

But it's unrealistic comparing us to them isn't it ? They're on another planet.

I guess looking at it long term the stadium is still important, it would be nice to see him given a whack of money now, I think he would bring us the league for sure.

Is that what you want? Us to buy the title like Chavski did?

In essence it is what everybody wants. No matter what way you dress it up we all want a decent wad of cash to spend on the best players to enable us to win the league. Chelsea took it to extremes and spent more than they needed to but the point is the same.

The club that spends the most money usually wins the league.
You can agree with me, or you can be wrong.

Unfortuntaly we're in the situation where we desperatly need funds from a stadium but also the club also needs an injection of top quality players. Like I said the core of the team is there but we're missing a few stars to complete it.

I don't want to be another Chelski and I can see where others are coming from but like the above post, we all want success.
