    Benitez spending ?

Rafa keeps going on about not being able to compete with the amount other clubs spend or about to spend ,but he has spent around £130 million since he arrived Now with the players he inherited (I know not many were world beaters but dont forget Carra Sammi Stevie Finnan risse Harry are all very much in the first team frame) do you think that this should have been enough to challenge ? and is it actually that little of an amount ? Has he spent badly ? Or is it he needs more money cos he rotates everyone ?

I think ke has had enough to make us challenge consistently until the business end of the season at least.

Enough of this lets go and beat Luton in a bit !! YNWA

130m? are you talking about the senior squad or reserves and academy included? i think his feeling is that he should have big money to spend on the big players, along with purchasing young prospects

I think Rafa has spent around £70m net so far.

Man U spent around that last summer.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Actually, Mancs net spending this year was slightly higher then ours. There is a thread on RAWK about it. What I and many didn't know is that they sold four players this year (Heince, Richardson,Smith and Rossi) which makes about 24-26 milion. For such ****e players that's a hell of the money.

That was what they were saying on Sunday supplement today. When you consider the same period at utd and chavs it is scary. We are no where near them in spending.

Benitez net spendings are about 70-80 million so far, that's correct. Mancs net spending this year was around 30 million, not 70. We are not behind them because of the transfer dealings for this or last year. It's previous years when they spent much more then us ( Rio, Rooney,Veron,Ruud....)

what about money Rafa has brought in from sales?
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

ehh, Teves, Anderson, Nanni and Hargreaves. We did not spend that much.
What did the mancs sell in the summer to make this lot be worth £30m?

Do only senior squad players cost money then?

Yeah, that spending yar in year out has meant they have a stronger squad than us and more £20m+ players. It will take us years to catch up if they stand still, but they are spending more.

I was under the impression that the Tevez deal was a straight buy, I guess I was wrong then.

If every clause is met, they'll pay £18m for Nani and £12m for Anderson.

As things stand now, they've paid about £20m for the pair.

And same goes for Hargreaves, they wont pay £18m unless every clause in the deal is triggered.

other way round i think for these two, it was a reported 17mil for anderson and 14 mil for nani

also if you count how much weve paid for players i doubt it was in one big chunk, like the 11.5 babel or 6 mil agger will be paid over time.
