Over the past few months of the season it has become apparent to me that when being pushed hard or in fact go behind that there appears to be no real plan b. This was shown up today by a struggling Luton team, from the word go they were always pressing and chasing every ball. This obviously knocked Liverpool out of there stride and meant they needed to adapt to compete with how Luton played which I dont think they managed.
Now after watching United, Arsenal and to a lesser extent Villa I feel that the thing that Liverpool really lack is pace. The ability to hit teams on the break at pace and really worry teams into sitting back and being more concerned with what Liverpool will do rather than the other way round. For all the ability that Crouch, Alonso and Benayoun all undoubtedly have they lack the real pace of Van Persie, Young and Anderson for example.
I feel with more pace in pretty much every area of the squad at Liverpool would become not only a far nicer team to watch but a far harder team to beat. I have no idea of any players who would be available or in fact if any are targets I just belive that some speed in the team would push us alot further up the league.
