    Stand up Steven Gerrard...

where are you hiding lad, you have the full respect of the dressing roomand the fans, you are Liverpool. Right now we need you to rise above all this media nonsense and come out and back Rafa 100%. We need you to rally the troops not hide in the backround. You must realise putting England before Liverpool when you where quite clearly not 100% had a major impact on the team earlier in the season. If you are a true leader than like any other club captain we need you to voice your full support for the man who originally you wanted to get the job.

Sadly the way things are at the moment it looks like someones had a word in your ear, to keep your head down and get on with it or something to that effect because you've been too quiet, sometimes i feel the media has an effect on you when it shouldn't, you are our captain, our leader so please Stevie, lead.

I agree mate, sadly though, I think this is only small gesture almost at this stage.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

      * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

He does seem untouchable, maybe too much so.

Okay, I thought it was Curbs but I may be mistaken. In fact it was probably a Dunk exclusive

Difficult for a player here. He cannot commit himself until the management give the OK.

EDIT: I say that because he has committed himself to play for LFC for life. Therefore it is safe to assume he has prepared himself for these situations.
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

Rafa has daily contact with the players. I think it's more than likely that he has asked them not to come out and support him for various reasons. Surely he would be able to get a vast number of players to go public with support if he wanted them to.

Imagine all the players going public to support Rafa and what that potentially would mean to an already strained relationship between Rafa and the owners.

There is a reason for the silence imho.

Does anyone actually KNOW if Rafa's job is under threat? Exactly, it's pure speculation and no need for Stevie or anyone else to speak up.

I'm sure some numptie like Geoff Shreeves will ask him about it eventually, but personally I can wait for that.

Torres came out in support of Rafa about a week ago.

Steven Gerrard shouldn't always be the answer to when there is a slip in form from the team. The other senior players should stand up like Kuyt, Riise, Alonso. These are players with experience and play majority of the season. If there was a massive slip in form then you could question the credentials of the captain but this is silly. Time after time Gerrard grabs the Liverpool side by the scruff of the neck and drags losses to draws and draws to wins. Others need to take count. Which is why we need more match winners. Liverpool can only look to two players when they are down: Torres and Gerrard whilst the other top three can look at others to win the game if one player from the side is not performing to the high standards.

Probably asked when not in a comfortable position. Would take no notice of the players. Would be very surprised if Rafa has not told them them to steer well clear of it.
