I thought houllier was atrocious in the transfer market. Bringing in people like Jean Michelle Ferri, Eric Meijer, Sean Dundee, Bruno cheyrou, Vignal.

Rafa is better but IMO, he has made a lot of poor poor signings. I'm not taling about prices here, I'm just talking about players of lower quality than expected. One thing he has going for him though is he usually realises his mistakes quick smart and ships em back out pronto as he did with Pellegrino, Josemi, Kronkamp, Nunez etc, unlike Houllier who persisted with them in the hope they'd come good, which in the end, IMO, was his major downfall.

Are you telling me you don't think that Crouch hasn't been a good signing given everything he has done for this club for the past two and a half years?

He might not have a long term future here, but he has done a good job for us in the past and is capable of doing so as long as he stays in the club.

He's certainly a lot better than Kuyt and Voronin and his goals in last season's champion's league were a big factor in us getting to the final.

You forgot Bernard Diomede, Titi Camara, Salif Diao, Igor Biscan.....even the better ones like Vladimir Smicer and Milan Baros were never really going to be good enough to propel us to the league title.
