    I would imagine not.

Most loan deals don't allow the player to play against the club that owns them.

He's played in the Cups for them. The "playing against your own side" is definitely true in the league, not sure about the cup though.

Is he doing that well for Swansea?
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

I'm not aware of any rule that prevents loan players from playing against their regular clubs, but I think that maybe there should be such a rule. There is too much potential for conflicts of interest to arise. If ManUre were having a mare and the opposition had one of their players on loan, would that player impress Slur Alex with his play or with his loyalty?
                      Never knowingly optimistic

mancs had 2 keepers out on loan last yr
in each game they obviously couldnt play so they basically got to play against the reserve keeper 4 times

i dont think there is a rule, i think they just put a clause in most if not all loan contracts that the player cant play against his team??

                            - or it could go the other way - was it lualua who was on loan from newcastle at Portsmouth and he scored and went berserk doing back flips and celebrating like he had won the world cup. Newcastle were ****ed off and promptly sold him - think it was after that clauses preventing players playing against their 'club' came in.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

There is a rule, deffo in the Premier League, not sure about the Cups, but I would imagine so.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                              * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs
