    Only thing I don't get is Obi Mikel deal. Has he ever been United player and they sold him? When did he play for them?

      Whether these figures are 100% accurate or not they are not ridiculously inaccurate which says to me that there is not a lot of difference in net spend between us and our rivals.

        He never played for them but he signed a contract with them. Then went on strike when he also signed a contract with Chelsea and claimed he would only move there. United played his original club a small fee and then got vastly more compensation from Chelsea which was the biggest obvious butt **** of a smaller club for a while.

            but the other players you mentioned have not been sold at a profit......essentially they lost money on each of those players thus pushing their net spend higher....

            also, to go back as far as 92 is wrong.....in 92 the british transfer record was about 2.8m which would barely buy you a djemba djemba these days.....my point is back then the top clubs were closer in actual wealth......there wasnt much difference in what the top clubs could afford to pay for players as the tv money and marketing hadn't as big a role to play yet (this is where we fell behind a bit compared to the scum.......sack parry!!!!!)

            im pretty sure if you only go back to 99 or '00, then the figures would be much different......

            also, the ****in figures are a load of cack anyway!!!!!
