Can't get the ******* working - a horrible picture of Hicks appears and then vanishes to be replaced by a WMP logo.

"Football is the biggest game in the world....blah blah blah...massive audiences...blah blah....the game is huge in China, Malaysia, Singapore...these sort of places. That's where Liverpool's fans are."

Nothing of interest. The above rough quote came when he was asked why 'European soccer'.

He briefly talked about the refinancing of the debt, which will "go through this week" using the old two banks method.

I put the because I haven't a ****ing clue what "the old two banks method" is, although I can hazard a guess.

But yeah...he said it would go through with the banks rather than an external investor.

Explains why the echo said the design for the new stadium will be announced at the end of the week.

How is it bad news Tom, I am not up to date on these two bank deals.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

                        * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

The reference to it being a "two bank deal" is nothing to worry about. All it means is that they have refinanced the loans by entering into direct agreements with a handful of banks (rather than using some of the more modern financing structures - SPEs and syndications). So, it is not bad.

Of course, for those who hoped that they would not get their refinancing the fact that he says they have it is not good news.
