Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

He's an impact player, as opposed to the brigade of 'slow and stready' lads we've got...he's different and i'm bloody glad we got him.
Right on, Babel is a Gem, a few cuts in the right places & who knows. A work in progress i say, but a very promising one.

Three brilliant crosses actually Shaggy, the first of which was a goal on a plate for Crouch but he couldnt take it. Also his work rate was fantastic as was his defensive cover when Arbeloa went forward.

pity once again he offered no goal threat what so ever.

I agree he worked hard and he did quite well. I disagree that that cross to Crouch was a good one. It was in a good area but the way he looped it up a million miles into the sky was counter-productive. **** cross.

His best cross of the night was the one to the back stick which Crouch nodded back and down for Gerrard.

Torres/Babel up front would be immense.

Although I think Babel should be played up front, but if not then should'nt he be given the RW slot, he is right footed after all, and clearly can't cross with his left?

His left foot seems rather poor but the threat he offers cutting in from the left and shooting is a big one. I’d say he’d be equally effective as a right or left-sided forward (as opposed to a left midfielder – it’s not ideal playing him on the flanks in a 4-4-2).

I'll agree to disagree with you Shaggy, but Crouch managed to head the ball wide of the near post from a far post position. In otherwards he should have hit the target i.e. scored

is that the one he over hit?

My mistake! I’m thinking of the one he sort of dug out when it almost looked a lost cause. Can’t remember the outcome but it was a great ball.

Defender did well under pressure from Torres, with Babel free beyond the far post.

That's the one. That was a great ball.
