Dubai International to make bid for Liverpool FC

Sorry Fredo but I strongly disagree. They were obliged to listen to the offer but they were not forced to accept. I wish people would stop making excuses for Moores and Parry just because they're 'fans' of the club. No one doubts they love LFC but that does not mean they didn't make the biggest cock up in the club's history by accepting the Yanks' bid.

Am not saying that they're blameless, they probably ****ed up this investment saga by dragging their heels for this long, but to be fair to them, they wanted to sell to the right people. Gazumped is the term most appropriate for what happened. They were ****ed right left and center by Hicks, and probably Gillett too was given the same medicine.Originally posted by WILF View PostBut they (Moores and Parry ) did have a choice, they could have said no.
They may have been obliged by law to listen, but they were not obliged to recommend acceptance of the bid.
Therefore they must shoulder a certain amount of responsibility
I don't know about the company rules, but it's been quite extensively detailed by some in here that they were obliged, by the law, to at least listen to H & G's bid. DIC got cold feet and moved out.
That's why I feel they're determined now to get this right. They got it wrong first time of asking.

As I said, they were binded by law to listen to the yanks' offer. It was DIC who pulled out. The board may (or not) have rejected their bid, but at the end of the day, they had no choice. There were no bid at sight for the foreseeable future.Originally posted by desertscouser View PostSorry Fredo but I strongly disagree. They could have waited and refused them yes, but how this all panned out in the press, I think they panicked. Moores was also probably wrecked (his health wasn't the best if I recall) by all this saga.

IF they are now fighting to get Hicks out and do the right thing for the club then they deserve a little credit. However they were either grossly incompetent or very selfish , or both , in the first place and so must take resposibility.Originally posted by fredo View PostAm not saying that they're blameless, they probably ****ed up this investment saga by dragging their heels for this long, but to be fair to them, they wanted to sell to the right people. Hopefully the pair of them, with Gillett , can find a way to get Hicks out and then make a deal with DIC.

They have to or else they'll go down in Liverpool fc history as the two men who sold us down the river. Knowing how much Moores loves the club I'm 100% certain that's not how he wants to be remembered. I would hazard a guess that he's doing everything in his power right now to try and rectify his HUGE f**k up.Originally posted by fredo View Post

I meant DIC mate. DIC probably wants to rectify their cock up, as well as Parry and Moores too.Originally posted by desertscouser View PostThey have to or else they'll go down in Liverpool fc history as the two men who sold us down the river. By opposing the plans of this cunt, they're doing what's right for the club. Now, we don't know anything about DIC's plans though. I'm hopeful they have done their homework before encouraging them to come in.
Mmm ... Dunno, but it was probably an addition of things. We'll probably know if their bid is successful, as I bet the press would want them to answer that.Originally posted by Frodo View PostDidn't DIC not pull out because of the lack of communication by Parry? Parry was wanking of G&H instead of communicating to DIC what was going on, they were treated in unprofessional manner and fecked off.

It's ****ing laughable that Moores ever needed to sell the club in the first place, he could of grew a set of balls and loaned the money to build a 70,000 seater stadium years ago. Wasn't the original build price quoted at 150mil or something? He would of got at least half that back in selling the naming rights.Originally posted by desertscouser View PostAfter years of looking the fact that you're implying that they only had 2 options to choose from again shows incompetence. They f**ked it and I can guarantee you, they know they did.

Of course they do. And the only way they can redeem themselves is by successfully getting rid of the Americans (both of them). If they don't, then they'll go down in history for all the wrong reasons. Which would especially be a shame for Moores who clearly loves the club as much as any of us. This must be taking a terrible toil on his health.Originally posted by Tom View PostMoores (espcially moores) and Parry know they've really ****ed up with this big style. They've probably accepted that they'll have to go whoever takes over. At least they're trying to un-do the damage now by puttin up some kind of resistance to hicks.
