    Also on football rumours:

As the Independent already quoted this morning, there is really something going on behind the scenes at Liverpool FC regarding a takeover. It is also confirmed by my source.
DIC wants to buy the club and value the club at £350 million.
That means that they will offer Hicks and Gillett a profit of £40 million each. Last year DIC were not prepared to offer more than what they thought was the value of the club.
But as they are absolutely not happy (especially Samir Al Nasri, Liverpool fan and head of the DIC), concerning how the club is runned by the Americans and the hugh loans that will be put on the club, they want to buy the club for any price DIC wants to pay for, and rescue the club.
My source told me that at this stage, talks are ongoing. That is also the reason why Hicks, Gillett and Parry until now have not come out with the new stadium plans they were discussing at the meeting in New York last week.
When the DIC takeover is succesfull that they have a plan to get Liverpool FC back to the top in the premierleague within 2 until three years.
Benitez would be in charge as DIC still think he's the right man for the job.
Benitez will get a serious big amount of money so he can get the worldclass players he wants and the players he thinks that can deliver the so much needed Premier Leaguetitle. Nextbye Benitez would also get a serious amount of money to get the best youthplayers including the English talent in the world.
The money, my source, told me was £75 million + player sales for the first team and £30 million for the youthteams but he cannot confirm that for 100 percent. But it was something in that region.
Nextbye DIC will contact architects who they think are the best, to drawn up the new stadium design. DIC is willing to buy as much as £500 million for the new stadium, persuming it is the best for them and the supporters and the club.
Of course all of this depends on whether Hicks and Gillett are willing to sell the club to DIC for the conditions they want but I have been told that it looks good. It is not confirmed yet but talks are ongoing.

**** off yanks. To the lads concerned it may be a case of out of the frying pan and into the fire, you may well be right, but one things for sure. These cunts who own us now are making a mockery of this club and all it stands for.

If the arabs come in and do the same then we havent lost nothing because we were already ****ed with the yanks. Just give them a chance until they prove otherwise, same as we did with the yanks.

Liverpool FC deal soon, amount may change -source

LONDON, Jan 17 (Reuters) - The keenly awaited refinancing of British soccer club Liverpool FC is set to be closed before the end of February, a source familiar with the deal said on Thursday.
The 300 million pound ($589 million) debt refinancing, expected to be completed by the end of November, has been delayed amid turmoil in the credit markets.
Banks, facing multi-billion pound losses linked to the U.S. sub-prime crisis, have tightened up lending, or are charging more to assume risk.
The deal will go ahead, although it may not include an additional amount, of about 40 million pounds, earmarked for the start of building a new stadium, the source said.
Liverpool's debt facility with Royal Bank of Scotland, taken out by U.S. billionaires Tom Hicks and George Gillett to acquire the club, expires in February.
Wachovia Corp, the fourth-largest U.S. bank, is arranging the refinancing. (Editing by Quentin Bryar)
