    Voronin?

I can't remember seeing the boy play before he joined.

But in pre-season, and his first 3/4 games for us, he looked very good. I remember him and Torres ripping the **** out of Sunderland. Since then though he's been dog****.

Sooo... what's the real Voronin? Is he the player we saw in pre-season? Or is he really this awful?

Without wanting to slate Kuyt here but he needs selling in the summer, in his first few months he looked a quality player but since then it hasn't quite happened for him. His confidence is at an all time low and it's not even as if he's missing a ****load of chances, he's not even in the ****ing box to get on the end of balls coming through and from out wide, sooooo frustrating

I'm still a little reluctant to write Veronin off completely as he's only been here a few months and hasn't been all that bad but i still don't think he's up to the required standard.

Babel will eventually end up as a striker and i could see that happening from next season. he's gonna be some player.

Torres we all know about and i think it would be very, very foolish to get rid of Crouch, he blends in well with our other strikers, provides a great option and will get us a few goals.

Sad but true ... Kuyt for me is too good to be this ****e .. everybody knows it ...just not happening for him ... he will be a great purchase for another team ... think perhaps he needs to be the focus of the team rather than another peice in the puzzle

            That's hardly slating him.

I'm with Coops on this. Kuyt has been playing a role that gets very little out of his qualities. I'm not saying he is a deadly weapon made blunt, but he does have the assets to be a solid reliable player who chips in with goals and assists at a very decent rate. I said a few months back that I think Kuyt's a decent player and I'd like him to stay but if he's continually played in the role best suited to someone more like Bergkamp then he will continue to decline and the time will come for a parting of ways.

When he first joined us he was played as one of two strikers rather than as a link man, and he was thriving. Goals and assists were coming at an impressive rate. I'm not saying that's his norm, but he is a decent player in that role. I wouldn't switch his position with Torres' - I think you play your best players in their best positions and then find other players to fit in a system after that. For me Torres is best as the front man so I wouldn't swap their roles. Either Kuyt goes and we get a link player in, or more simply we start playing him up alongside the front man instead of miles behind him.

For all Kuyt's slating, and yes of course he has been poor, how many of our players have outscored him or got more assists? We need to face it - Gerrard and Torres are our only two top class attackers. Yossi, Babel, debatably Kewell form a group of a decent standard below those, but we've got plenty of other players who are no better than Kuyt. He's just singled out because we've got nobody better to play instead, and he cost a fair bit - hardly his fault.

I have a feeling it's the later, I know a few members saw him before he signed (I think Shaggy was one) and they commented that he was basically **** but he was playing well above his ability level in the first few games for us. Sadly now he seems to have revered back tp how he was. He really is this bad

Kuyt played a free role for Feyernord and often went deep. He was pretty much all over the place for them. It doesn't work in the PL for several obvious reasons. Pace and better players. His work rate is his biggest downfall. If he had more brains he would learn to channel his powers to key moments like all great strikers in the PL.
Could he stay on top and really be a real striker? He never managed to do so in the past but that would make a massive difference for his game as Paul says.

It's not too late for kuyt to 180ty this season but it has to start soon. I think it could happen.

Personally i'd take Robbie Keane. He's improved a hell of a lot in the last two or three years and is a far, far more clinical finisher now. Still young enought to improve as well and he'd jump at the chance to join us.

Robbie Keane's a massive Liverpool fan

Plus he's better than Kuyt and Voronin by miles. Would cost a fortune though sadly
