I agree he was our best striker towards the end last season, but of those he competed against only 1 is still at the club.
I`m not saying Fowler is ****, I`m saying he`s not the player the used be.
As you say he`s over-all game has improved a lot, and that might make him a great player again. If he can form a partnership with one the others I`d be delighted, but I dont think he`ll become à great goalscorer again.

Robbie is a great reader of the game. He probably doesn't have the legs to play often, but as someone with game intelligence who can come on and influence the play, I have no doubt he is the best man for the job.

To say he's finished or mediocre is rubbish and misguided, because you are comparing him to the player he was 10 years ago. If we had that player I think we would be favourites to win the league. But if you isolate him as a player we got on a free, who is a natural finisher (something you don't lose), a top class passer for which he gets far too little credit, and has a passion for the club that can only be a positive influence on the players around him, then you will see what an excellent piece of business it was to bring him back.

        Correct?

        Yes.

No, the criteria is over a season. Football are "measured" in seasons.
of course if Fowler is red hot for a couple of short periodes and scores alot in those, but none in others he still had a good season.

I think bringing him back was great business, but not only as a player. When he came back the entire LFC was buzzing, and the love he has for the club is invaluable

Kuyt, Bellamy and Crouch will obviously be ahead of Robbie in the pecking oreder, and I'd be suprised if even Robbie himself didn't agree with that, but to have him around as 4th choice striker can't be a bad thing.

The only thing that concerns me about Kuyt and Bellamy as a partnership is that both of them like to drop off and run into the channels, and our midfiled really needs to get into the box if that's happening - personally I'd like to see us try 4-3-3 at some point and play them both off Crouch with Momo/Gerrard/Alonso as the midfield 3. In general howeverl I feel more positive about our striking options this season than I have since Robbie was 21
