Didn't see your edit mate. You raise an excellent point. It could have been offset through other means, but ask any fan, if they would be willing to sacrifice their hard earned money in order to see a winning team week in week out, I'm sure they would have accepted it.Originally posted by Skillz View PostTo be fair if I was a Manc and paying to go to OT it would piss me off that my hard earned was being used to pay off a massive debt that didn't exist prior to their arrival. Wouldn't sit right with me.
EDIT If it had been placed due to an investment, ala new stadium or anything that increased revenue it would be different. Just paying off the loan to buy the club though, stinks, especially when it is against the clubs assets.

They made a massive cock up, that is clear but to be fair to them mate, DIC didn't leave them with much option, as they pulled out of the move.Originally posted by kurtangle01 View PostBut we weren't which makes it all the more galling. The old board must have been totally stupid...either that or the wool was pulled firmley over their eyes by Hicks and Gillett.
I just think Moores have had enough of the pressures etc ... that's why he sold to Hicks and Gillett in the end. Monumental error.

Yeah, in fainess I think some of us have conveniently forgotten that it was DIC that threw their toys out of the pram last year and left Moores with little choice to sell to the Americans. I include myself in that.Babel fanclub member # 4!!!

I find that article offensive to say the very least. If the fans want their opinions to be known, then where else are they supposed to vent their anger other than in the stadium itself? That way the fan knows that their voice will reach a wide audience. Their is no other platform available to the fan to make such a difference and to suggest that doing so is somehow being 'part of the problem' is an insult to our intelligence.
The fans have a right to be angry about the circus that has become LFC in the past few weeks and they are also right to voice this anger at the stadium knowing that the owners are likely to be watching. Any outside protests are likely to fall on not only deaf ears, but no ears of relevance at all.
I note the point the author is making in relation to our underperformance this year but thats not really the point is it? I myself have been no advocate of late of Benitez as a manager but that does not necessarily imply that I concord with the recent treatment of the man. Benitex, like him or not, only wants the best for the team and has turned down more exclusive jobs to remain as LFC manager. For those reasons alone he deserves huge respect.
I would like to see a new manager at LFC in the summer but any changeover must be done in the RIGHT WAY. Alas that sadly now seems to be impossible due to the actions of the americans.
And that is why I protest.Fernando Torres
I dont just love him, I'm IN love with him

That's a good post. I don't agree with you on replacing Rafa but you are right that Rafa's perofrmance and the owners are 2 separate issue's that have become one due to Hicks interview with Barrett IMO.Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24
