    Hobbs Loaned out to Scunny

Liverpool have announced that centre half Jack Hobbs is to spend the remainder of the season on loan at Championship side Scunthorpe United.
The former Lincoln City defender made his first team debut as a last-minute substitute during a 4-2 Carling Cup win at Reading in September 2007, and has made five appearances for Rafa Benitez's team this season.

His last appearance for the first team was the 1-0 Carling Cup defeat by Chelsea.

The 19-year-old reserve team captain joins the Iron who are fighting to stay in the Championship. The loan spell will last until May 5.

Am I right in saying not one single player who has been loaned out by Rafa has gone on to play for the club?

I know Hobbs has played for us already, but you have to wonder if he'll join the others in having no future.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Hmmm second bottom in the Championship, will have plenty of defending to do thats for sure.

Guess we will see what he is made off there. he needs to play games and I think bringing Skrtel in effectively ended any chance of getting some game time this season.

For me his future hinges on whether Rafa thinks he is good enough to replace Hyypia when his legs finally go.

          Good luck to the lad.

I've liked what I've seen from him in a red shirt so far. He seems to have a lot of potential. Surely he'll be worth a place in the squad when Sami retires?

Possibly - but I think many of the others were only loaned out as we couldn't sell them. For me we have only this season started loaning out people with any hope of getting to the first team squad in the first place.

It will be interesting to see how he does. I haven't seen how Scunthorpe play but it is a very good level for him to learn his trade IMO.

As a Scunthorpe lad I am chuffed at this news, we need a new Centre-Back, and this lad can hopefully help us to stay up in the Championship (well that and Torres for a couple of months as well).

He will be called on a lot if recent form continues as well, the team try to play quite attacking, although this results in very little goals and also a lot of gaps in the middle of the park in which the opposition can easily attack.

I'll try keep you all informed on how the lad does down at Scunny if I can, as I imagine he will get straight into the team for the visit to Turf Moor this weekend.

What sort of style of football to Scunthorpe play mate?

I really think that the lower end of the Championship could be ideal for him. As he is going in half way through a season any of the top teams were likely to have established players in who he would have to beat. At the bottom so many teams are close to each other he can make a real difference and boost his confidence and if he doesn't improve enough to challenge for our first team he will probably at least increase in value.
