i would of liked to see lucas play alongside alonso today as i think it would of produced a better tempo for the game. the worst perfromance by javier in a liverpool shirt did not help lucas. and the mind boggles yet again as to why rafa would set up stall at home against a sunday league team with a defensive midfielder.
fair play to you all for defending finnan today but im sticking with rhylsheepshagger on this one. finnan has been brutal for a while now, cant overlap, cant cross and needs 3 touches on the ball before he decides where he is going. i dont know what happened to him, i really dont, but its not good enough.

Must also be difficult playing with Hyypia (classy but getting on) and Skretal (took 6 months for Vidic to settle - I expect next season we`ll see the best from him)

Lucas needs to play more, especially now that Momo has gone. He also had the 6/12 of the settling period - he need to start driving forward and dominant the park, as he did when he was top scorer at the Copa Libertoras last year

A win is a win is a win, but what worries me that since Reading and Man Utd defeats we have lost structure to our game, and so many of our players are playing badly (albeit with highlights like beating Pompey at home)

I would like Rafa to get rid of the players that he has brought in that arent cutting it and address the wide areas (in defense and attack) and a striker in summer, but the way things are going he is playing himself out of a job

he didnt become a bad defender overnight, rusty i would say, quite consistent for a long time now, hasnt lost pace, can cross a ball (not many of our team can), not finished just yet

He isn't as good as he has been. We will need to sign a replacement for him. He is still good in defense but he don't attack down the flank often enough and Rafa's tactic is built on that our fullbacks create the width.

People are very willing to write players off - of late half of our team (maybe more) deserve as much of a slating as Finnan. If he hasn't recovered form by the season then that would be a concern but I really think that at the minute people are over reacting.

I know he hasn't had that much pitch time, but from what I've seen so far from him he hasn't done anything to suggest that he's gonna turn into a worldbeater.

I'm also concerned with our scouts around the globe as we have made far too many mistakes in the transfer market, especially from South America.
