Thanjk you.

i doubt that filling in those empty seats will take it to 71,000. the kop is 18000 so you will need about half the seats on the kop to increase from 61K to 71K. and that space looks smaller than that to me.
i would imagine we only need some sort of altertaion to plans to be approved but no idea really.
It might be that the same space can accomodate more seats of a different size - so I am thinking they use oversized seats at first or have wide aisles, then cramp things up when more capacity permission is granted. Just a thought. I am not an architect.

Reason: Clarity
why the f**k they dont buy a row of houses near anfield demolish them and just extend the ground that way.At most it woulld cost 40-60 million and in doing so would keep the historic stadium open.( it has been done)

i take it you're in the know about costs of building stadiums etc?
'Of course I didn't take my wife to see Rochdale as an anniversary present.
It was her birthday.
Would I have got married during the football season ?
Anyway, it was Rochdale reserves.'
all i know is the G.A.A in ireland have an 80,000 stadium in an area very like where anfield is located and it was built by replacing the older stands that stood there bit by bit. Sure some of the higher stands aren't very good if you suffer from vertigo but overall it is a brilliant stadium and was built at 1/8 th of the cost this new stadium will cost
