              I think, bar Torres, Alonso is our best player. One of the best and most creative midfield players in the world. With Masher and Stevie we have steel and strength but no guile and creativity. It would be a disaster to lose him, for me he'd be on the team sheet before Gerrard.

                I think guile and creativity is better employed in a more advanced position.

                Xabi's role in our side is starting to become a bit obsolete. Which is unfortunate because he has obvious class.
