i feel Evans was the right man at the wrong time. Imagine what he would have done if he had been allowed take over after Daglish quit. There he's philosophy of fluid football would have had the right players to implement it without having pricks like Ince in the dressing room( I know he signed him) to contend with

Apart from Wenger and Arsenal what other other premiership team/manager is develping youth good enough to play in the top 4?
      Dare we believe

I can only think of Michael Owen, Jamie Carragher and David Thompson to be honest mate

Youth set-ups are all about quantity, they always have huge wastage as very few ever make it through to the first team. What rafa has done is broaden the net by looking further afield - like arsenal, utd and chelsea. It's a global game now.

BTW I don't see many scouse world-beaters in Man City's or Everton's first team. Rooney was evertonian and would never sign for us anyhow. Aside from that nobody.

to be fair mate, weve just won the fa youth cup twice on the bounce and our reserve side are top of the league with a squad of players that could mostly still play in the u-18 side.

                    give SOME credit here mate

we won the reserve premiership under Houliier with traore as captain so dont mention that: we had a better centre defender that time at reserve level eiffon jones if i remember( big tough chap)

And the reserves are doing a helluva lot better than they've done for years.

there are no scouse kids at the moment anywhere NEAR the level of them 3 in the acadamy. Its unfair to blame Rafa for how good or bad the kids of liverpool are at footy in this present time.

Jay Spearing is about the best scouse kid we have on the books at the moment and he is nowhere near capable of holding down a 1`st team spot.

Now plying his trade at Caernarfon Town. Not completely convinced by your scouting skills

I always liked Evans. I'm not completely sure how true it is that Evans was too nice, Fowler mention's in his book he was sound but if you p!ssed him off he was horrible. I've heard similar whispers from other players as well.

Under Evans we were so entertaining to watch it was incredible sometimes. Screw the two Newcastle games- just in general we were a fantastic sie to sit down and watch. Mcmanaman (a big loss to evans, and despite anyones opinions on Macca, the board f*cked that up) was a genius and in my eyes one of the best right wingers in the world. I suppose his two champions league winners meals confirm that. Redknapp at his best was a great passer with wondeful vision- shame he was such a pussy. Fowler under Evans, especially in 95-96. . . best striker in the world bar NONE! You take anything that fat c*nt Rooney can do now and Fowler could better it with his eyes closed as a kid- absolutely unbelieveable!

Then- there was Collymore. Well we needed a striker so Roy bought one. On his day Collymore was sublime, maybe boardering on genius. He could have been better than Ronaldo in his pomp- shame his head was up his arse!

Then you've got Jamo. He's the same now as he's ever been. One day he's ****ing awful the next your thinking he's ****ing unbeatable.

Evans did the hard work that needed doing after the suicide surgery Souness tried to perform. Very underrated manager, shafted by the board when they introduced Houllier and was a shame he left.
Manchester. . . WANK WANK WANK
