I've been in the Stretford end 3 times and on each occasion had to suppress my joy at watching Super Danny Murphy score winning goals (Penalty, little chip over Barthez's shoulder in the six yard box and a Free Kick :-D)..

    100% success rate!!

Can't BELIEVE a) your luck in choosing those three games, and b) the fact that you kept schtum (sp?) throughout! You must be one cool customer.

I would've exploded and got a kicking on at least one of those occasions, no doubt about it.

It's not for me either and it would also mean I couldn't keep my seat on the high horse on which I reside when arguing with Mancs.

I can't allow myself to sink to their grubby level.

But as I've said...and I'm sure everyone else, you included, felt the same....I could've smashed something the **** up. I was positively frothing at the mouth with rage - and to cap it all we were utterly abject and lost without a whimper.

'Of course I didn't take my wife to see Rochdale as an anniversary present.
        It was her birthday.
Would I have got married during the football season ?
        Anyway, it was Rochdale reserves.'

            Don't do it

Just not worth the hassle. I have been to many a game at United, sitting with the mancs and you really just have to keep your head down, don't open your mouth. They are real nutters, I have seen women and children attacked quite openly for celebrating a goal. There is no enjoyment if you can't celebrate.

The best time at Old Trafford was when we whipped Chelsea in the FA Cup Semi Final, what a day. No problems then just pure elation!!!

I was kind of bang in line with the throw-in line, with the upper tier full of Mancs behind/above me. I thought I was gonna get pelted until I noticed about thirty Japanese on the front row, all taking pictures.

You're right - they were loving it when we reacted with the Munich stuff. I saw Mancs in the stand to my left (K-Stand?) laughing their heads off and goading us. Don't get me wrong...a large, dark side of me wanted to react like many others did. It's hard to stand there and listen to that ****e, over and over and over again for over an hour. I hate them so much.

hahaha! i can tell talking about this has rilled you on it's own. Damn- why can't we be playing them sooner, i seriously can't wait for this one- for some odd reason I think we're going to win (but i do every season). Not long now though. All of Feb and most of March and i'm there. Wahoooo
