only 2 in 12 games, cant just be the loss of Agger, any thoughts? Too much reliance upon Sami/Carra?

Hmm, it's our defending of set pieces that is letting us down at the mo. I shudder at the thought of how many sloppy set piece goals we've conceded in those 12 games. I dont know what it's down to, lack of organisation, concentration or focus? Individual error? Not sure. I dont think Agger's absence should account for how poor we have been at defending those set plays.White liquid in a bottle = Milk

A fair bit of it could purely be confidence.
We're missing guilt-edged chances up the other end. All the while Sami/Carra or whoever are thinking "oh FFS, if we concede 1, we're gonna be screwed". I'm sure it leads to players getting even more edgy, and could well lead to more mistakes from set pieces.

I think Agger's absence is a huge factor, as is confidence as Shanks said
I also think we have shuffled around our defence a lot more this season than we have done in previous years which hasn't helped. Sure, Rafa has changed it himself a bit but I would guess usually as a result of injury of lack of form.
For the last couple of years, Finnan played RB all the time, Carra/Hyppia was replaced with Carra/Agger & Riise played left back most of the time. This year we have had Finnan & Arboloa at RB, any combination of Carra, Agger, Hyppia & more recently Hobbs & Skrtel and Riise, Aurelio & Arboloa at LB
For all his tinkering in the midfield and up front, Rafa has always tried to keeo the defence relatively stable and that is why we were so strong defensively over the past few years IMOAt a football club there's a holy trinity- the players the manager and the supporters, Directors dont come into it, they are only there to sign the cheques " - Bill Shankly

McMurphy doesn't know what clean sheets are..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.
