You call that rotten. If you allow me to go into to *conspiracy mode* what if Rafa wants to lose atm so as to place G&H in a precarious position, thereby forcing/encouriging them to sell?

I know it is a ridiculous suggestion but our work rate is less than 50% of what I came to expect of Rafa's teams.

Look in your LFC heart and know that it's utter wank. He has to stay at least until the end of the season. Whom would you replace him with midseason? Please leave it alone. This turmoil is the last thing we need. Show a little class. The man is obviously defeated and we owe Rafa enough to refrain from kicking him when his in skidrow. Respect the man for the CL win and understand that the transition will take time. Even if we fired him now there is no magic formula that could turn this nightmare season around.

Just pray for a miracle. 4th spot in the PL and a good run in the CL.

If you really want to support LFC you will get a grip now and show patience and class.

I would put it down to a lack of confidence both personally and in each other from the squad. What that is bought about by I don't know. We look like a team of depressives at the minute.

BTW your conspiracy threory fits with what some people say about everyone having an agenda at the minute. I however don't believe it for a second.

I agree with this post. Still, I have to say its the only reason why I'd be keeping hold of Rafa now. The things that I believe will stop us ever being successful in the league are things he repeats game after game.

A stable sensible board whose idea of a Liverpool manager isn't the likes of Jurgen Klinsmann, and I'd be happy for Rafa to move on with my very best wishes and very deep thanks.

The truth is, I'm scared of who we'd get, and it's that alone that's meaning that if it were up to me I still wouldn't pull the trigger. He can't ride that forever though. It'd be a start if he stopped pulling the trigger himself - with the gun aimed firmly at his own foot - every time he selects the team. He does himself no favours whatsoever.

For me it comes down to the overall approach. Rafa sees himself as a tactician. That seems to mean nullifying the opposition first and foremost - everyone back at corners being a case in point. I'd much rather we let them worry about us.

I'm reserving judgement on (nearly) all the players until I see them with the shackles off and playing on the front foot. Might be a long wait, granted

Agreed. Tactics grow in importance the better the opposition is than you.

If you had the best players in the world playing the worst in the world, they wouldn't need tactics to beat them. But tactics would be the only hope in hell that their opponents would have.

I too would like to see us force teams to worry about us. Isn't that the way we always did it.

IMO Rafa has lost some of the dressing room. If I was to hazard a guess some of the old guard may feel we are no closer to winning the title and want a change.

A manager needs players to believe in him and his vision for the team. I don't think Rafa has that belief anymore!!

I also worry that he's "lost" some of the players, but I blame that more on them than him.

He's not blameless tho, he needs to admit that he needs a #2 & stop fielding Kuyt FFS.

I dunno, I really want him to succeed, but I'm just not sure he can any more for various reasons, quite a few of which are outside his control.

                          It's heartbreaking really.
                          3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Rafa just needs to stop all this rotation crap - define his best 11 and play them every week until they are either injured, out of form or knackered. I don't understand how a team can be a team when the team members are different every sodding week. Teamwork requires cooperation, understanding and confidence all of which is undermined by a rotation policy, particularly for strikers and defenders.

Sacking Rafa now would be stupid not least because there is currently no one better than him who is available.
