    a new beginning...

CAD started a thread stating that we were in transition and change takes time. However, it will the fourth year that we are 'in transition' under Rafa and i seriously can't see him turning this around.

People should consider whether Rafa himself has just had enough and wants out. Maybe he has lost heart for the job and needs a new start elsewhere.

In the meantime, the ****pile that he will leave behind will mean that we will need a massive overhaul in the summer.

The squad is currently unbalanced and there are too many players at the club of average ability. I know rafa's not had the budget to go out and buy top players but he has wasted a lot of money.

We need at least one right back, one left back, 2 wingers, and a player who can play behind torres and link the play to the wingers and midfield.

That kind of quality wont come cheap and im not sure if there is anyone out there who fancies the job of restoring Liverpool in face of terrifying competition from utd, arsenal and chelsea - let alone the new money in mancity, aston villa and westham.

A new manager may come in and announce another 4 year plan to winning the premiership and therefore we'll be in transition for another 4 years. By which time carragher and gerrard will be long gone. Just imagine our team without those two warriors - doesnt bear thinking about.

I think we just need a manager that can motivate his players. We have a squad that is better than most. One or two tweaks are needed and a positive attitude and we could be a hell of a lot closer. That would do me for now. Instead we get ****e football with baffling selections and poor excuses.

I don't think we need a change of manager although Rafa's constant use of Kuyt is really starting to annoy me. I think Rafa needs to bring in a number 2 to motivate the players and let him get on with developing his tactics and evaluation of the opposition. He needs to either get Pako back into the fold or get someone in to drive the players on, be that Sammy Lee, Pako or someone else. I think the pressure it starting to get to Rafa a little and he needs someone to come in and help him out.

I firmly believe Rafa is the right man for Liverpool but he needs assistance and time. We don't have the money of Chelsea, Manure, Arsenal or even City or Villa. We don't have a divine right to win the league or any other trophy, that right has to be earned on the pitch over a course of a season. Bring in someone else with another 5 year plan would be a major step back IMHO.

exactly. with each passing day I see more similarities.

I wanted GH out 18 months at least before he left, I certainly didn't enjoy his style of football at any time including the treble season. I haven't enjoyed much of the stuff Rafa has served up either.

Before I die I want to sit back with a beer and say '****ing hell that was fantastic'.

Istanbul and the run to it was fantastic.

But week to week in the league shows us for what we really are; mediocre.

Thought after 2005/06 when we won the cup and finished with 83 points that we finally had the manager to take us back to the top.

But it's yet another false dawn.

What really get's me is the football, it's mostly ****e, remember that Valencia side of Rafa's that came to Anfield?

                Why hasn't it happened here?

The game where rafa got out of jail after making the strangest decision ever in not starting hamann? Of course I enjoyed the final.

Did I enjoy the FA Cup? only because we won.

Last years CL game? still frustrated to **** we didn't give ourselves a better chance by starting with Crouch. I'm convinced we'd have won otherwise.

Over 4 years of course there are the odd games we've played brillantly in but overall when I look back its been frustration, frustation, brief hope and now despair.

4 years is not that long, Fergie had won nothing after 4 years with Utd - Rafa has won and FA cup, a European Cup and got us to a second final. As for the ****pile he will leave behind and without mentioning some of the quality youth he's brought in:

                      Mascher
                      Alonso
                      Reina
                      Torres
                      Agger
                      Benayoun
                      Babel
                      Lucas

                      All ****? all average?

No matter what people are saying we are light years ahead in terms of player quality from when Rafa took over.

Last summer was the 1st summer ever we have had any type of return from players. All the transfer windows before that has been trying to beg clubs to take players on free transfers and with a nice little back hander to the players also.

There is no denying we are still short in some areas, but because he has had limited funds he has been trying to prioritise where's needed.

Up until Jurgvember we where doing well.

not in the CL we weren't. I suppose pissing over the likes of derby was alright though.

My theory is the chelsea game helped **** our season.
