But he seems to have been far further forward at times recently than I remember him being when he first joined. He's been ahead of whoever else is in central midfield a lot - you only have to look at the number of times he's had a shot (which has usually wafted a long way wide). In fact, I've found it frustrating him being so far up the pitch while Alonso or, even more irritating, Gerrard has been holding back and covering for him.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Ok fair enough I see what you're getting at now. To be fair though it's not just Rafa that does that, Houllier did it for years with Didi and it brought a balance to the midfield alongside Stevie.
I feel all the problems we have at the moment are due to a confidence crisis. A couple of wins and we'll start looking like a team again and hopefully that'll start this saturday."My commitment to Liverpool is 100 per cent. I would die for that Liverpool shirt. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Hyypia is slow as ****. Or maybe because it gives Gerrard more licence to bomb forward.Originally posted by badpiggy View Postwhat i don't understand is the idea of a midfielder who's only duties are defensive. i get the idea of a defensive midfielder - after all did seemed to do a great job but he did actually get forward and he did actually use the ball constructively in midfield - but in principle i'm against the extremly negative way that rafa uses him as opposed to the way he plays for argentina.
Lets clear up one thing though, Rafa has tried to use Masch as a ball winner high up the field with a high backline for a good pressing game. The injury to Agger changed everything.Play Outwar free webbased MMORPG here

Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

just anounced on SSN that liverpool fc have denied reports that they have signed macherano on a permanent basis >>???
WHAT TO **** IS GOING ON AT OUR CLUB???"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.
"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

same sort of **** went on last year when we signed him, the deal wasnt rubber stamped till well after the window shut. Think with all the technicalities of MSi/third party ownership behind Mascher, it'll take some time to sort out and make sure nothing illegal/dodgy is going on.
