Yeah Rafa you should be going out buying 10 world class players for **** all! And stop buying players that are ****e, deliberately!

He wouldn't buy ****e players deliberately. He has a massive scouting network all across the world who give him reports on players where Rafa would feel the team needed strengthening and possible targets. One of the jobs as a manager is to evaluate the scouting reports on certain players and see whether they have the attributes to play in the Premiership. In the Premiership, it would obviously be: fast, big, strong, intelligent. Fast and strong being the main physical attributes for a player in the Premiership.

I feel at times, Rafa has been too optimistic and put too much faith in certain players. It is pretty obvious Voronin is not a goalscorer- his record doesn't lie, Kuyt is not the quickest- that must have been evident. As a club that should be challenging for the title, we should not have strikers who can't score goals, in fact no club would take strikers who don't score goals.

These are just some examples of players Rafa should be moving away from. He has money now so he should use it but use it very wisely. Yes, we need quantity but quality is on the agenda. I would rather see Rafa have 18-20 'high classed ' players than have a massive squad of nearly 30 of players who are of an acceptable level and are there to make up the numbers.

I'm optimistic that things will turn good for us soon. The whole negativity around the place is depressing and it will come to a head shortly.

It can't keep going on for much longer. I think before long the team will start playing like they were at the beginning of the season. I can sense either something happening with regards to DIC or even the fans takeover and the two yanks will be gone. I don't know what it is, just a feeling I guess.

Tv Money? Rafa was given £25mil last summer to spend. Of that £25mil approximately £0.00p was from Tv money. Loans paid for it.

I know Torres was bought on loans. The owners can't loan again. They will allow Rafa to use the TV money and the selling of players.

next season, unfortunately, will be just as bad as this. it is plainly obvious to see that we have 5 world class players at the club (reina, carra, gerard, masher, torres) and 2 potentials (babel, lucas) and so to have a successful season next year would require, by my count, 10 more world class players....where will we get the money for 10 more world class players in 1 summer?(i reckon a squad of 17-20 would do instead of the 30+ we have now) rafa needs till the 2009-2010 season to get a squad good enough to challenge for the title. thats 4 transfer windows to build up the squad and integrate a large amount of new players into the team. we still need desperately 2 full backs, 2 wingers, a creative playmaker and 3 new strikers....and thats just for the starting 11. we would still need to build up a 17-20 man 1st team squad capable of challanging the arsenal, manure and chelski. i'm still hopeful that next year we can have a stronger squad and cement 4th possibly 3rd, but it's plain for all to see that we wont win the league next year.

Okay this season's league is a write off. Next year will be our year though. Torres will have a full season under his belt, Gerrard fresh from a good break in the summer, Babel will hopefully be finding his feet along with Lucas and Kewell, Kuyt, Riise and Voronin will be off (fingers crossed).

So we need two fullbacks, two wingers and a very good striker, is that doable?













Trying to look ahead in the sea of pessimism here.

I'm afraid to say but we need another massive overhaul of this current crop.

I'm a fan of Riise but if he doesn't find form and quickly i'd sell him as well
Hyypia as much of a legend he is, one of my all time favourites will probably go hunting for regular football before he hangs up the boots.

As for signings i think we need a new left back, two new wingers and at least two strikers, maybe even three believe it or not if Crouchy goes().
Have yet to identify the players i would like to see in the Liverpool shirt next season to get this club playing some football and getting results to push the big three.

We're still a fair bit away from the scum, arsenal and chelsea.

A sad state of affairs but it's reality i'm afraid.

All is not lost though, we still have a very impressive nucleus of a team with the likes of:
Reina, Carragher, Finnan, Arbeloa, Agger, Gerrard, Masherano, Alonso, Benayoun, Lucas, Babel, Torres and Crouch(if we keep him)
Think the boy Insua could break in there as well, along with one of two other reserve lads.

Alot of Top class players there Just need 4 or 5 more to play with them

I just don't think that he will want to be a rotated player as he seems to becoming at present. With the signing of Masher imminent, that leaves us with 4 players vieing for 2 places. Will Stevie play on the right? I doubt it! So where does that leave Xabi? Do we play a 5 man midfield and the lone striker or do we go with a 3 5 2. Rafa doesn't seem to go that way too often so again I ask, where does that leave Xabi?

I don't see why we can't use players this season correctly.

The squad we have is built for a 4231 almost. The back 4 are fine. then any two from Alonso, Masch and Lucas, with Gerrard, Babel and Benayoun behind Torres. Once we sign Aimar, that the three behind Torres would be Babel, Aimar, Gerrard (Left to Right), with the only extra we need is a quality wide man, so that we can switch to a 442 at any time.
