So it comes as no surprise that Liverpool's current plight has seen the vultures hovering over Anfield.
One rumour which started circulating in London this week suggested Steven Gerrard was looking to exit Liverpool before the January transfer window closed with Arsenal his most likely destination.
There are a few words that you can use to describe such rumours; unfortunately none of them can be used in a family newspaper.
