Tell you what though, I though Pennant improved immeasurably second half. Mascher was MOM without doubt.

Reina 7 - did nothing wrong
Finnan 7 - Good second half except for booking
Skyrtl - 7 - Not a lot to do
Hyppia - 8 - Our best defender. Brilliant slaloming run second half!
Aurelio - 5 - Poor TBH. Has even lost the ability to hit free kicks.
Carra - 6 - Poor first half. Very static. Better second half and great cross for Crouch. Lucky to get away with a definite penalty for handball. Not a full back.
Gerrard - 7 - Not really on top of his game. Can't remember a major contribution bar taking the penalty.
Mascher - 9 - Won most balls back when we lost it. A few great passes. Controlled the match. The ideal player for the Premier league.
Lucas - 5 - Played out of position and very ineffective.
Pennant - 8 - Showed some great touches. Really gave his markers a torrid time. Needs to be consistent though.
Torres - 8 - A constant threat. Great anticipation for the second and one great volleyed effort.
Crouch - 8 - Did nothing first half. Just when you were looking to the bench, sticks his head on Carra's cross and wins the match. Great flick on for Torres' goal and proved his worth. His all round play was not great but he certainly knows where the net is.
Kuyt - 7 - He is the exact opposite to Peter Crouch.
Benny - 7 - Thought he played well and added balance to the left side, where we are very short.

Overall, poor first half. Played much better when we went ahead. Lucky on both penalties. this will hopefully boost the confidence of the team.
