Who has been RAFA's worst signing??

Personally, I think either Kromkamp, Nunez or perhaps the most expensive has been Dirk Kuyt. Who would have thought after a pretty decent start that Dirk (despite all his problems) couldn't score if the goal was twice as wide. Those glaring misses against Blackburn and Villa will haunt him all season. Not sure if Josemi made much of an impact either. Mark Gonzales was another similarly to Voronin just not convincing enough neither is Aurelio. At least Morientes did score some goals and was a good in the air. Having said that RAFA has done excellent business with Reina, Alonso, Arbeloa, Torres, Leiva and now Mascherano

His worst just has to be Pellegrino. Kuyt is trying his best to win this ward though.

Based purely on hype and expected impact versus actual impact I would have to say Gonzales and Kuyt.

Both arrived with big reputations and we expected a lot from them but both failed to deliver.

Morientes also falls into this category but I was always of the opinion that he may struggle in the Premiership.

Morientes/Kuyt easily. Probably the latter on a shade. At least with Nando you knew he had talent and he just couldn't adjust to the EPL.

Morientes was disappointing as I thought we were getting a top player, sadly he couldn't adjust.

Kuyt was a bit more of an unknown, and is a bit of a damp squib of a player - sadly.

I will always defend Morientes as a signing, as I will Gonzales and kuyt based on their impact in other leagues (anyone else remember how excited we were about 'Speedy' Gonzales). I also think that the overall impact that Pellegrino made on helping the team accustomise themselves to things like zonal marking can't be disputed.

I would focus more on the signings that led me to think "what the ****s he done that for". In this catagory I include the useless Zenden (crap at Chelsea, mediocre at Boro) and Voronin (didn't get it then, don't get it now). Ok they didn't cost anything but in my opinion they offered absolutely nothing to the team whatsoever. They weren't an improvement on what we already had and frankly had never given any indication that they ever would be (although Zenden was supposed to be a very nice chap and he did a lot to help new player fit in, he is also supposed to be a double hard *******/ Ninja type so if your reading this Bolo it wasn't me that said you were ****).

So for me they are his worst two signings because frankly they were nowhere near the standard we needed to move forward, yet Rafa brought them in to the squad anyway.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Don't think Josemi should be overlooked. A defender who can't head the ball is a pretty rare commodity.

I went for Kuyt more for the financial loss. He's never a player anywhere near 10m.

His experience was invaluable. Helped our defence with zonal marking and allowed Hyppia to be rested before vital Champions league matches.

                    I'd go for Bellamy.

Got to be Kuyt. Charles Itandje also looks a bizarre one.

I'm probably better than Nunez but he cost nothing so I let Rafa off for that one.

                        Kuyt.

Pellegrino puts in a good shout but he cost us nothing (except points of course!)

Morientes puts in a shout too but you could at least see that he had ability if not strength.

So it has to be Kuyt I'm afraid.

In terms of the money spent I would say Kuyt, but Dirk is not the worst "senior" player Rafa has signed.

There are so many. Nunez, Kuyt Pellegrino but the very worst for me was Voronin, free or not free.

Kuyt as we overpaid by about 6million and Pennant and Crouch as we overpaid by about 7million
