    Gerrard

Why cant we just play him in the middle along with Sissoko and Alonso. I find it annoying that we seem to move our best midfielder around just to accomodate him. Surely by now its clear his best position is in the centre ahead of the two others left to roam.

It didnt happen to Keane at Utd or Viera.

Lampard isnt swapped from left to right yet here we are again getting Gerrard to fill in a position we have plenty of good players for already

    whats the deal?

    Lets Sell Gerrard Then Eh

Cos we may as well have 30 odd million than waste him game after bloody game. I'm sick of seeing our most impacting and effective player nullified by our own manager.

That's THEIR manager's job so why is Rafa making their lives easier.

FFS, get Gerrard centre mid or whats the use in even having him.

He may be Rafa Benitez but I'll be honest, he's doing me effin head in!

He needs to decide where he's going to play Gerrard. The 4-5-1 clearly don't work so it's a 4-4-2. In a 4-4-2 he goes forward *so* much that he can be a liability if he's in the middle of the park, leaving Sissoko to defend alone (assuming Alonso is the casualty of Gerrard playing centrally). If we play him wide, he comes inside, depriving us of width down the right.

Personally, I think it's getting to the same situation as we did with Owen. Owen's main strength (pace) was also our weakness. Gerrard is so influential, he's almost stifling to the rest of the attack.

I don't agree with that Craig. I think he's one of the best central midfielders in the world. I don't think he goes forward too much that he neglects defensive responsibilities. I think he has a superb engine and gets up and down the pitch like the best midfielders always have done. I'm sick of seeing him wasted. Why have a superstar and nullify him into a journeyman?

Wether he played Gerrard on wing or not, he was still responsible for spurning two good goal scoring chances by being a ****in ball greed. We have strikers for a reason, to ****in finish, why did he even try to score when he was coming from the left there were two good passes he could have made to Kuyt and Bellamy, but typical of him he wanted the glory.

Who can blame him, Kuyt couldn't hit a bull's backside with a banjo at the moment.

Agreed, Gerrard should be there alongside Momo in central midfield with Alonso on the bench.

Your kidding right? Think you need to watch the last 2 seasons again. Alonso is immense just not hit form yet. Same with Gerrard, hes the best in the world but can make mistakes too you know, should of scored, any other player and you lot would want them sold.

I'd drop Alonso tomorrow, no point playing based on the last 2 seasons, he's been woefull since the start of the season. Think he needs a rest or a kick up the arse, one or the other.

we have all been saying that since few games back. But Rafa obviously has other ideas and its not paying off.
