    On his dad dying.

      Nice article.

Doesn't change the fact that he is an average player though, SELL SELL SELL!

Whilst he has every sympathy in relation to the passing of his father, I honestly wish he would just stay away from giving these interviews and concentrate solely on improving his game and his form. He is on borrowed time now.

I won't pretend to understand the impact the loss of a parent can have - mine are both still very much alive - but Kuyt isn't the only footballer to have ever lost a mad keen Dad. Almost every father of a footballer is the same.

I hate to sound unsympathetic or even cruel, but it's just an excuse.

                As for this...

"Sometimes you need just a little piece of luck to make a huge difference. It might be the ball hitting you and going in or something similar.
Precisely that happened at Newcastle, the ONLY goal he's scored from open play, and in fact the last goal he scored. Did that make a huge difference?

Good luck to the lad, i would like to see his hard work rewarded.

I hope he comes good again because he's a fighter is Dirk, never hides in a game no matter how bad he plays and always wants the ball, I think that's half the reason why he gets slated so much, he still always wants to be involved in the game no matter how ****e he's playing.

I feel for him mainly because he's out of his depth and it's painful to watch someone struggling so badly.

I'd love him to score this weekend at Chelsea, but it ain't gonna happen. In fact forget goals, I'd take a half-way decent performance from him - as we've not even seen that for bloody yonks.

I'm torn. He's been rubbish and sentiment doesnt win you points, i wish it did.

But being such a nice person as i am, i cant help but like him and feel for him. I wouldnt pick him on sunday but if he plays, i so wish he could just score a goal.

Maybe I will but it's still a convenient excuse.
