Liverpool sign another youth player

Liverpool have been busy snapping up more top young talent - this time 14 year old Bradford City midfielder Andre Wisdom.

Bradford youth-team coach Jon Pepper told the Telegraph and Argus: "I think we're getting a reputation with the bigger clubs that we have decent players right through the levels. It's not surprising that Premiership scouts come and view what we have to offer.

"It's a great opportunity for these lads and we are getting rewarded for it.

"It's unfortunate the Bradford public haven't really seen them play but sometimes when Premiership clubs come in I don't think we're really in a position to stop them going unless they're in our first team."

A lets hope this proves to be a wise move and we won't be questioning the Wisdom of our youth policy in years to come.

Wenger is great at bringing through youth, as we all know.

Is this because 1) He can spot even the faintest glimpse of talent from a million miles away or 2) He buys reasonably talented players but because his training methods (or motivational skills, or whatever) are so good, he turns them into great players.

I actually think no.2 is the truth, which worries me, because I'm not certain that our setup will do that. So in other words, we can spend lots of money on young prospects but ultimately it won't amount to much, because we're not bringing them on properly. I have no idea if that is the truth, but what do you think?

I think we need to understand how many of these buys make it! He's bought a shed load of players but what % have made it. KNowing that would allow us to determine if it is because he is good, or that he is the only one that has been doing it for the last x years and the result was inevitable just on the laws of averages.

can we all get off of wengers dick please,he has achieved nothing as of now for the last 3/4 seasons.

they are top of the table while playing nice football but id like to remind you that the season is not over yet.

listen its like this,wenger is in about his 10th season at the arse,which means hes had a good 6/7 years on rafa as far as getting these things off the ground,it doesnt happen over night.
