I suspect that Gillett may be very seriously ill and hence the reason no comments have come from him, could also tie in with Foster's reason for returning home.

I find it hard to believe there is any other reason he hasn't made some comment in the last few months.

Seems to have gone very quiet on the DIC front these last few days since the Hicks statement.

Les Lawson, secretary of the Liverpool Supporters' Association, said: "As far as I'm concerned, there is no way Hicks and Gillett are going to win back the trust of the 5% (i.e RTK) of intimidating, xenophobic and generally myopic supporters."

The % and general insult was added to the end of the piece by Speedy G

Les Lawson was making the point that he feels Hicks will never win back the trust of supporters.

Speedy was making the point that many fellow supporters are intimidating, xenephobic and myopic for not being pro-Hicks.
          understood it perfectly mate.

              I stand corrected!!

Makes his silence more baffling as surely he would want to defend himself and his reputation from some of the stuff that's being said about him.

There was a rumour that DIC told Gillett to stay out of the media, and Anfield while the negotiations were taking place, or they would walk away....

That's obvious to me, anyone who thinks anything positive said by Rafa about Hicks has any other motive than to keep his job, is imo deluded. Rafa aint daft, after Hicks reaction last time Rafa knows he has to keep him sweet till this is sorted. Likewise Hicks thinks that by talking up Rafa & hinting that he'll keep him as manager he will win some fans over.

In a way Dic are doing GG's talking for him, they have agreed a price, he's willing to sell, nothing else we need to know for now, no point him entering a slagging match with Fatso yet, plenty of time for that when its over.

Nah. I'm sure it's like a duck on a mill pond. Serene on the surface but frantic activity underneath. Hicks pulling out of keynote speaking engagements at the last minute tells it's own story too

Quite right - and I hope Gillett makes a statement when he leaves saying how sorry he is for bringing Hicks into the deal in the first place. That won't redeem himself completely for me, but I would have a certain amount of respect for him. This is of course, only if he sells to DIC only and not someone Hicks bought in!

Lets cut out the bickering. However, there has been a bit of a Hicks love in on here today and feelings against him for the majority of Liverpool fans are running high. It's understandable why it gets a little tense at times

Hicks has continuously lied since he's been in charge and that coupled with his outspoken **** and causing friction at wrong times in the season are the main reasons why people want him gone.

Regardless of what people say, he has tried to sell his stake and is touting round for the highest bidder. Someone like him is not good for the club.

DIC for me should be the owners right now. A monumental mistake was made. The main reason I want DIC? Al Ansari is a life-long Liverpool fan who unlike the Yanks really knows the traditions of the club. Gerrard, Rafa and Carra (three of the most important people at the club) came out and spoke highly of DIC and their methods. That speaks volumes in my opinion. They are people with the club at heart. Money is secondary, LFC is first.

I want DIC in charge as soon as possible

Hicks Love in???? this is daft as the whole rcdnw brigade and rafa in or out. People can sit on the fence you know!!!

I dont think anyone has had a lot of praise for Hicks, just a case of maybe things arent as bad as made out that is all and instead of getting all xenophobic see what pans out over the next few weeks.......

I saw the first thing in the press yesterday to make me question that, though anyone that would buy us will be interested in other revenues of making money. This article dated March 11th.

LONDON, March 11 (Reuters) - Talks between Dubai International Capital (DIC) and Liverpool co-owners George Gillett and Tom Hicks are set to continue on Tuesday and over the next few days, despite Hicks' announcement on Monday that talks had broken down, a source familiar with the situation said on Tuesday.
Negotiations over the future of the British soccer club will carry on in Dubai.
DIC is attracted by soaring media and merchandising revenues in the world's richest soccer league.
Texan billionaire and Liverpool co-owner Hicks said on Monday night that he had terminated talks over disagreement about who would run the club.
Hicks wants to remain in control, while DIC also wants a hand in the day-to-day functioning of Liverpool.
The Liverpool sale saga started earlier this year as the partnership between the two U.S. billionaires hit the rocks amid disagreement over the figure of club manager Rafa Benitez.
DIC, which was outbid by Hicks and Gillett when the Moores family sold the club, offered 400 million pounds for the club, almost doubling the 219 million that the two U.S. tycoons paid one year ago.
DIC reiterated on Monday that takeover talks had reached an "advanced" stage but a price and shareholding details still had to be thrashed out.
DIC, which initially wanted a controlling stake, agreed to buy 49 percent - from Gillett- leaving Hicks with 51 percent. However, DIC insisted they wanted to be included in the running of Liverpool. (Reporting by Elena Moya; Editing by David Cowell)
