Strange days. Rarely have we seen a rumour this persistent. There has to be something about it in some weird way.

So what do we know?

1) DIC will have to pay over the top to get the club. They seem prepared to do so according to the grapevine.

2) DIC will not buy the club unless they get 100% control. Anything else makes no sense and I just don't believe it for one second.

3) Gillett seems to be the one pushing with all his might for an exit. We must assume that he can't afford to carry on.

4) Hicks is in a position where he could end up making more money than Gillett. He apparently doesn't need an exit as bad as Gillett. He has to be careful though. If he overplays his cards he could end up getting burned.

A thought:

Is it possible that Hicks and DIC are both trying to buy out Gillett?

That would explain the thundering silence from Gillett for so long. Kraft could be his new partner?

Mr Gillett does not want to sell his shares to this person, as they dont get on, but he is being encouraged to by Hicks, and other notable persons.
It is possible it is part of a double bluff by Hicks, to get rid of the club for above and beyond its due price, in order to get other people, intrested in his percentage of the franchise to bite on his hook.
