I know I've said it on here before. But there are a lot of odd attitudes regarding the ownership of the club. I don't care any more. I just want stability. If DIC want to take over then make an offer and take over or sod off and leave us in peace. They've been in talks with the yanks now for over 5 months, and completed due diligence before walking out when the yanks took over. What more is there to talk about?
Football clubs in England have always been owned by egocentric *******s who are in it for their own ends. Whether it was the church trying to civilise the working classes, the local mill owner trying to curry favour with his local employees, or the know-nothing idiot sons of a rich local family with no other talents and nothing better to do than fritter away the family inheritance on the local team. This good vs evil depiction of Hicks vs DIC is nonsense - unless the fans group find 95,000 people with five grand burning a hole in their back pocket, we need to accept that we will always be owned by *******s. All we can hope for is that they are our *******s.
Whatever happens, we need a clear end to the ownership row before the end of the season, and owners who will back whatever manager is in charge with funds for the summer window. That may be DIC, it may be a reformed Hicks and Gillett, it may even be someone else, but for god's sake, how long does this saga have to drag on for? What more do DIC possibly need to know before announcing their intention to buy the club? There are lots of echoes of the non-existent Kraft takeover here. Lots of people on the internet claiming insider knowledge, saying a deal will be done within minutes, hours, days, weeks, months etc. but no sign of an actual approach as the clock keeps ticking and we remain in limbo.Last edited by calvoboy; 22-02-08, 11:22 AM.

this is from a post on .no.
Reycling at it's best.Dette er i fra TLW som siterer en på RAWK:
I am getting bored with this but another qoute from RAWK:
"Evening all
will use this thread to post as the other take over thread has been locked (yes i know first post and all that) but just to say that i have just woken from a dawn return flight from Dubai after three weeks on holiday visiting family i am am amazed by the silence in the UK media regarding our take over.
in Dubai it has been common knowledge for weeks of the pending deal, that an agreement in principle was made a couple of weeks back (confirmed by a senior DIC official in a radio interview) the agreed fee was circa $900m and due diligence should be completed by March. My Arabic is not as strong as it was and there is a big dialect difference but i heard it. When asked about Rafa the interviewee declined to answer stating that it was all one step at a time.
just thought I'd share. Have alerted family in Dubai to let me know as and when any other news breaks out there."

I hate to be cynical, but all that has been in the press (on this very site none the less), other than the Mascher bit which I would presume we have all guessed anyhow.Originally posted by el matador View PostForwards.......

sounds pretty plausible. so assuming it is, you can then read a lot into hicks backing of rafa (as he doesnt want to sell), rafa's singling out of hicks as someone backing him (as the others want him sacked), pako's appearance at the reserve match (pako + his new friend mourinho to run things rafa?).Originally posted by el matador View Post
will they wait until we are knocked out of the CL to get rid of him and conclude the deal? wait until we have missed out on 4th? i think at worst, with a CL win and 4th place he'll be sacked but if he doest do either, it'll come once we're out of the CL.
i gotta ask what rafa has done to lose his bosses, colleagues and (some) players faith so seriously in such a short space of time tho.
all speculation again however so lets see how things actually do pan out...

Problem with Fordies little bit of spin is that for DIC to come in with no black marks mid march, Rafa would need to have been sacked by then.
Should we make it past Inter and do well in the prem up until then (likely due to run of games we have) then G+H will have tosack a manager who is through to the QF and who has got us back into 4th place.
Not very likely. As his post was made before the Inter tie I could maybe see where he was coming from, as most believed Inter to wipe the floor with us. Not gonna happen now, that is for sure.Forwards.......

I think it has to do with several issues - the negative defensive tactics, the constant rotation, some of his buys have been poor and not up to premiership quality.Originally posted by barnes10 View Postsounds pretty plausible. so assuming it is, you can then read a lot into hicks backing of rafa (as he doesnt want to sell), rafa's singling out of hicks as someone backing him (as the others want him sacked), pako's appearance at the reserve match (pako + his new friend mourinho to run things rafa?).

Someone told me that we had £65m (in value) of new players in the team from last season and yet we are still nowhere nearer winning the league. Some have been moved on and we re-couped around £24m from sales and another £9m if you add momo.
Torres - 20m
babel - 11m
lucas - 5m
skrtel - 6.5m
benayoun - 4.5m
MASCHERANO - £18m
Although we havent bought masher he is still playing in the team and is worth the £18m or so we will have to pay for him (stories state that some of that may include his wages).
I'd probably give him another season but he wont get it. I really like rafa as a person and he has given us so many things but im afraid its all going to end in tears for rafa.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

.
Babel - Jury still out on the lad but has shown glimpses of promise
Lucas - Again, jury still out but has come on in massve leaps recently
Skrtel - Not seen enough really to comment, but played very well v Chelsea
Yossi - Done okay, but not the type of player I think we needed. wrong option by rafa.
Mascher - Worth the £17m. He is gonna be a massive hit.Forwards.......

there is also that classic bit of letting new signings settle in for a season. and mascherano hasn't been paid for yet. regardless, he's been a fantastic contributor since he's been with us.
also weren't we practically top until the wheels fell off around the newcastle game in november? or was it pako going that set the rot in? something clearly tipped the balance as this altered the progress that rafa's revolution was making right up until that point. is it right (and or wise) to put all that blame on rafa?
getting real tired of all this politics tho. thought football was supposed to be a simple game?

Going well until the 3-1 defeat away to Reading, followed by a 1-0 defeat at home to Man Utd. We would still have been fine though had the team managed to score one of the million chances we had to put away teams who we drew with during that blip after Xmas.Originally posted by barnes10 View Postthere is also that classic bit of letting new signings settle in for a season. and mascherano hasn't been paid for yet. regardless, he's been a fantastic contributor since he's been with us.
