The only thing that has been confirmed by Barrett is that talks were taking place, hes been adamant no agreement has been made / reached

Now that might change today but I wouldnt hold my breath

I've been exchanging emails with Barrett for a while now and basically he has been saying he can't say what he knows as he would be breaking promises if he did but all will become clear withing 2 weeks.

He is a die hard red and wants the americans out, and imo his silence atm with regards to snippets in the echo is good as things are going on well behind the scenes.

Barrett is by far the most informed journalist on this situation

From what I am hearing he is, anyway

When / if it becomes official Barrett will break the story

Bascunt still said it was 2-3 days away about 6-8 weeks ago. He knows nothing he's like the rest of us doing 2+2=5

As was pointed out elsewhere if bascunt still has sources they are @ LFC. LFC I'm sure know nothing about the details of what is going on between Hicks and DIC. Why would they?

I think some LFC officials are aware of some of the details but nowhere near the full picture / situation

you can safely assume that the notw will not be getting any more inside info from lfc after the rafa article, bascombe or no bascombe

they wont be running exclusives anymore because rafa told them not to trust them

The thing is Bascombe will have his sources from his tenure at the Echo but they will be inside the club

Barrett will have inherited those sources (because the Echo always has the strongest ties to the club) but in addition Barrett is being briefed by someone else
