Thanjk you.

I'm worried that the 1st real news we hear from DIC, will be to announce they are no longer in the hunt to buy LFC, i can see it happening. Seems that what ever went on in Dubai yielded nothing, & Hick's has decided that's it. He's staying for a few years ATLEAST.
im with you there mate, ive said it so many time before but things such as this just dont happen to liverpool, were not that lucky.
You two scousers are always yapping,I'm gonna show you some serious rapping.
I come from Jamaica,my name is John Barnes,When I do my thing the crowd go bananas.
the thing about both having first option on each others shares, surely there would be a limit on the amount of time you have to come up with the money to buy said shares?
Taken off RAWK
Look. Gillett must offer Hicks first refusal on his shares at the price he has been offered by a purpective buyer for a fixed period as per thier agreement (so Hicks must pay what DIC are offering).
So unless Hicks can raise this capital Gillett can sell to whomever he deisres after Hicks' period of exclusivity ends.
Gillette may insert special conditions in his sale to DIC to protect Hicks' shares from being diluted, but seeing that they are not in talking terms this probably won't happen.
Worryingly, Gillette may insert a condition commonly known as an 'overage' which would potentailly entitle him to the same profit as Hicks would receive in the future should he sell to DIC.
No wonder things are taking forever.
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
hicks statement is standard hostile takeover stuff -ive been telling people this for ages.
what do you do when a third party wants to buy out your business.....?
claim youll never selll to push the price up.
get tight control of all the statements coming out of your office so the true position doesnt leak
make sure all your people are quoting the party line
pull a cheap publicity stunt or two...like say, say send your son round to the sandon
then when youve got the price up as far as you can push the buyer (who want lfc badly but arent mugs) you sell and roll around in millions of profit.
this deal will be done
all that remains is haggling over the exact price
Agreed this ties in with what I heard and posted the other day
Gillett wants out DIC will meet his price (Hicks cant / wont), but Hicks wants a higher price and is playing hardball
The thing I have just posted regaring "overage" from RAWK is interesting though

Surely the only ones he needs to say this too is DIC, Not make a denial every time the press speculate, DIC are'nt stupid. I think he's here long term, BUT I PRAY YOUR CORRECT IN WHAT YOU SAY.

PR and media supression of stories is the best way of masking your true intentions
Gives you the upperhand when you go in for the next round of talks, shows you arent ready to bend over and accept a huge DICking just yet
Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
Excuse me if this sounds stupid, but isn't it possible for DIC to take over Gillett's half of the club only for the time being and then use their power on the board to veto any using of dividend payments on the re-financing loan that Hicks took out, thereby forcing him into either a sale of his shares or using his own clout to fund the interest payments?

the whole point is to make DIC work harder to make him sell (ie pay more)
bottom line is he WANTS to sell for as much as he can get - hed be as gutted as us if DIC throw in the towel

that makes sense
i wonder when the period of exclusivity ends,we must be into the second month at least of gillett deciding to sell up,going on reports.
seems an awful long time to set as a period of exclusivity.

It is interesting but its the sort of thing thatll give the accountants a boner and a six figure bonus the following april but i doubt its a deal breaker
Its not that bad yet.... shall we merge it with the previous 140 page one

This whole sorry saga is totally depressing, I think Gillett has been abducted by aliens as we have not seen or heard from since Oct/Nov, DIC will not be able to work with Hicks as he like the sound of his own voice even on an email too much and he is making the whole club unstable. I no longer know what to believe regarding a possible takeover, all I know is our beloved club has become a pathetic joke.
And of course we know who is to blame for allowing these two Texan tossers in. How I would love to sit down with Parry and Moores I have some questions for them both on the handling of our football club, which could in theory be tearing itself apart from within as all this mis-management continues.
As much as I support the lads on the pitch, until this nightmare is over I am boycotting
Liverpool FC it is the only way I can make my protest.

I know what you mean but i for one am extremely excited by it all. I have been brokering property 'companies' for many years and have learned to to read a deal.
The silence of one partner and the perspective buyer as well as the point blank refusal from another partner who is desperately trying to protect his position is like mothers milk to me.
Like it or not Mr Hicks DIC a global institution with enough capital to keep your entire home economy afloat will soon have a foot in the door.
You don't have a chance pal.

All this sudden talk about due dilligence suggests that the period of exclusivity is either over or about to be. If you look at the timeline of this story, it was big a couple of months ago, went quiet and is now back with a vengeance. That would tie in with a GG decision to get out and sitting out the exlusivity period before taking the money and running.
Might also explain the timing of jnr's visit to the Sandon. If things are coming to a head and Hicks is playing hard to get, that's exactly the kind of thing he would do (to give the impression of digging in his position) - although it did backfire rather.
Would DIC not be better to provide PROOF of all the negotiation's with Hick's, thus proving to everyone Hick's is a money grabbing ****, & is NOT commited to the club, but DOES wanto sell for a HUGE profit.
Ps. Do we really know H&G have fallen out, & that it's not just part of a decietful plan by the BOTH of them.
