seems an awful long time to set as a period of exclusivity.
When did they buy the club was it march or february last year? Maybe there is a year on thingy or something?

Isn't it the Amercian way to virtually kill a deal before making a deal?

if hicks was in it for the long haul and cared about lfc hed have not done the following:

                put debt on the club
                undermined the manager
failed to materially invest in the squad at the required rate
                alientated the fans
                alienated his partner
                hawked the business widely
acted like a classic hostile takeover target

take him at his word after all..you might be right...or he might be an american businessman who cares only for the fast buck hes about to make.

if he does, good luck to him. lfc hasnt come to any harm as yet

So when has Tony Barrett been wrong then Speedy?

In a way I do. It was very noticable that he made no reference to Gillett (either direct or implied with the use of the word 'we'). Recent reports are consistent in suggesting that Gillett will sell in the near future but that Hicks will not. I don't see anything in what Hicks said that contradicts that.

What is in doubt, in my opinion, is Hick's longer term intention.

I was referring to Chris Bascunt. Didn't think Barret had said anything much about DIC TBH.

No. Why does it have to be opposed to anything?

I refer you to enema's response.

Bascome has just run with the sensationist, newspaper selling version of the story. Should we be surprised given the rag he writes for? Besides, his copy will have been subbed beyond all recognition before it hit the newsstands.

TB has covered the story, but in a more measured way, in keeping with a local paper

I don't buy into a lot of that. Glazers put debt on the club but they are in it long term. Likewise Rafa played a large part in undermining himself.

Just find it interesting that people are more ready to believe some nomark on rawk than the man in the middle. After factoring out the spin there has to be a grain of truth in there.

If he was in Dubai last week then to me it seems obvious that the DIC thing will not happen as he was hedging until those talks completed.

yep, this looks like his bluff before the flop - (with the emphasis on flop hopefully!)
