    This is ****in ridiculous

Hicks comes out with another statement today about not selling and you would think that would be the end of the matter for the near future. And only hours later BBC say he is effectively lying. Meanwhile nothing is cleared up regarding the other **** Gillette

    WTF

I think it's safe to assume that Gillett is on his way out - esp after Hick's latest comment. They are clearly not working as a unit

Hicks though has since ****ed up with his 'regardless of Gillett' comment, which suggests that Gillett is selling and undermines his own denials

But to answer your question. Essentially yes, they are saying 'this is what we have been told by a credible source. We are not going to completely endorse this info, so make up your own mind...'
If Hick's was staying, In some sort of partnership, with DIC buying out Gillette, Would they not meet meet to discuss the way forward, but no hang on, why would dic tell the beeb he's in talks to sell in that case. It's baffling.

i'm in a business partnership myself (obv much smaller) and our standard written agreement (draughted by a lawyer) highlights that if either party wishes to sell up the OTHER party must have 1st refusal at an agreed fair price.

IF guillet wishes to sell (looks likely) how the **** is hicks going to convince the banks to lend him even more or allow him to take over guillets debt?

DIC must know this and are seeing through his solid (smokescreen?) stance

No point stressing. There have been stories in the tabloids for weeks now. Mirror writers have said that DIC will buy in, same in the Times, Mail, Guardian at some point and even the Financial Times I think may have mentioned it in the past. Not to mention Bascombe and Barrett.

The likes of Barratt and Bascombe aren't going to get **** out of making this stuff up except stick from the people that keep em in a job. All these journos can't be making up the stuff that is being written. Hicks may not want to sell but Gillett definitely does. I'd presume DIC would take the 50% on offer then try and get a majority holding once in.

There is just too much stuff going round for it not to be true. And DIC would not want to associate itself with bull****. If I were them after they were treated initially and I wasn't in talks I'd just come out and say so. Easy to say we won't go back in for Liverpool after we have been turned down. The fact is they haven't said anything to deny what's going on

DIC are back in the fold and Hicks is under pressure...no doubt about it

                        Simple

Hicks thinks, or says, he is staying.
                        DIC disagree

The key point is that DIC first will buy out Gillett and then take it from there.

Nothing to really be worried about. DIC know what they are doing, it will take time but in the end they will buy Hicks shares too.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Oliver Holt was just on Newstalk in Ireland.

Claims he has it in good faith that Hicks is negotiating with DIC. Gillet and himself have fallen out completely and Gillet will be selling. Hicks has first option on his shares but does not have the cash to purchase. Claims that he is hoping to sell the majority to DIC but stay on as a significant shareholder on the board.

Said its important to read the text of the statement today, but is key that he has not mentioned his relationship with Gillet and that he has not denied that he is in talks with any other parties about a potential sale.
