But there were claims from Dallas last night that Hicks is ready to exercise his option to buy out Gillett's stake and to assume sole ownership of the club, having secured an off-market placement of his shares in Hicks Sports Group, which includes investments in the Texas Rangers baseball team and the Dallas Stars ice hockey franchise, as well as in Liverpool.

All of the tens of millions of reds around the world will be dreading this, i just pray for once something goes right for us.Originally posted by The_Milkman View PostSo looks like that at some point during this week we will know one way or another who will own the club!
I'm not looking forward to it
The future of our great club is to be decided by the greed of an inbred fat *******

Thats a very good point. He may have offerred some shares to GG who of course said no.Originally posted by fah-q View PostSo he has diluted his holding in LFC to buy more shares? Who has he sold a percentage too and how is this possible if there is an agreement that each other (GG and TH) have to be given first refusal if a sale is made?"I watched the Champions League quarter-finals and the way they crushed Arsenal. Only the greatest and the best can play such a match.
The Future is Red!

The observer mentioned this off-market placement in their article on Sunday but according to them Hicks was not doing this to raise money to buy Gillett out and he has been trying to sell off part of his company for a while now.Originally posted by The_Milkman View PostFrom The Times article:

In the end it's up to Hicks if he want to make the gamble and buy Gillett's 50% and then hope that DIC is still interested to buy the whole club at a higher price.
It's a big gamble but something Hicks is used to.Just believe and you never know what will happen.
According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I'm not a Hicks apologist by a long way, but nobody has picked up on the most worrying aspect of DIC's takeover:
"It is not clear whether Al-Ansari would be based on Merseyside in the event of a takeover, but sources close to DIC have said that it would recruit “the best football brains in the country” to work closely with the team manager."
You can kiss Rafa goodbye if this happens, and also kiss goodbye to any chances of getting Mourinho (for those secretly hoping he'd be second choice if Rafa leaves). One tit for another.

How do you come up with that from the quote you show? Or is this a dig at Rafa and Jose M?Originally posted by BigChief View PostI'm not a Hicks apologist by a long way, but nobody has picked up on the most worrying aspect of DIC's takeover:
