Agreed, Sameer Al-Ansari has only confirmed that they have been in talks about buying a stake in the club, & that they are getting mightily pissed with the whole thing, not that any bid has been tabled.

      Game Over!

By going public it's clear DIC are running out of ideas to get Hicks to sell up.

By the end of the season we will be owned by Hicks and we will be ****ed.

I am not sure that can happen...
I would have thought that GG had to present (as per their shareholder agreement) an offer he has from whomever, in this case DIC, as the offer he is ‘prepared to accept’. Hicks would then have a period of time to match that offer under his first refusal option. I doubt GG could then go back and say, ah, I now have a higher offer from the same bidder.... There will be some clause against gazumping in that way, IMHO........

Even if that deal was done in cash, which I would doubt, it is not a 'Cost' as such. It is an asset on the books, ie: he could be sold in 2 years for a similar figure so that £18m (+ or - a percentage or two) could be recovered.

He's borrowed up to the hilt, who the feck would still lend him money?

I've heard he's well in with a mega rich group of yanks and he's gone cap in hand to them.

On the pretext of him then owning the WHOLE club, & giving them certain guarentees, he'll find some takers.

Yeah but they didnt get mega rich by just lending money to someone who's already debted up to his eyeballs, surely?

Even more money has to be borrowed for the stadium if it ever gets built, the club will soon be in 400 million pounds worth of debt maybe even more. I wouldnt put it past this cun* to reintroduce groundshare.

I get the impression that in effect Hicks is selling shares in his sports businesses as a whole to raise finance to wholly own Liverpool. So the money isn't being borrowed.

It would seem that if a number of other people are willing to back his plan that his business plan must be thought generally to be pretty sound. I still don't think that the Americans are as bad as some make out (I do however feel that their loan strategy is risky and would have preferred another option). Hopefully whatever happens the uncertainty surrounding the club will be resolved which will be to everyones benefit.

I'm sure they didn't but then again Hicks didn't get to where he is today by being a mug.

                            They must trust his judgement.

That's another thing, the new stadium...how's he intending to afford that?

Surely his bid to take sole control is merely a precursor to selling the whole club for a bigger profit? Surely...

Fair point. He must have some seriously high credit score, let's just put it that way
