Not confirmed officially either way yet it seems. Rumours doing the rounds that Hicks is unwilling to sell but has not yet officially rejected the offer.

Thats as it stands at the moment I believe.

Tom Hicks rejects DIC bid

LIVERPOOL co-owner Tom Hicks has rejected a £400m bid from Dubai International Capital to buy the club.

The Dallas-based businessman turned down the offer on Tuesday afternoon, ahead of the midnight deadline which had been imposed today by DIC following weeks of talks.

Despite denials suggesting otherwise, the ECHO understands there was a deadline which demanded a response to the offer before midnight and Hicks has now met that with a flat refusal, putting the ball firmly back in DIC's court.

Hicks remains adamant that he is not looking to sell his 50% stake in the club and his flat refusal will give DIC a dilemma as to whether or not they should maintain their interest or back off.

The ECHO understands the offer would have allowed Hicks and Gillett to pocket a profit of £25m each.

Liverpool's owners have been given a £400m take-it-or-leave-it offer from Dubai International Capital to buy the club, BBC Sport understands.

Government-run Dubai investment fund DIC have been in talks with George Gillett and Tom Hicks to buy the club.

BBC 5 Live understands Gillett is willing to sell, but co-owner Hicks is not, but both have to agree to sell for any deal to go through.
