[QUOTE=CharlieMansonsSquint;975813]Well at least Rafa and the players will have their excuses in early should we lose a match and or drop points.

And at least if that happens, You'll have plenty to moan on & on & on about.

Having said that, there are suggestions today that they would clear the debts - meaning no £30m per year interest payments. Could be a lie, but I'd like the chance to find out. I can't imagine they would be worse, so what's to be lost?
G&H said exactly the same and what they meant was they would refinance them. Possibly DIC would be able to take the personal hit for longer and wait for better credit terms but I see no way that in the end the debt and the need to finance any growth in the team will not be borne by the club.

DIC -"we will give you £400mill for LFC"
Yank cunts - "awesome, how many burgers is that? we accept!"

        Job done.
It may well drag on for months, but there all of a sudden seems to be a lot of quotes coming from both camps, something must be happening, one way or another i think we'll have our answer soon enough.

But give these guys a break and let them take over our club first and prove us wrong before making rash judgements.

No one is dreaming of a sugar daddy splashing over money like Roman, but simply someone who'll give us the financial backing we need to 'compete'. Because you're deluding yourself if you think we're competing financially right now.
Ah it comes back down to money again.

          Rubbish.

The reason the club is behind is because it's been mis-managed on the pitch and off it for the last 15 years.

The investment has been there, the people with the courage and capabilities to put effect winning strategies to hasn't.

By the way, are the Americans not competing on the financial front? I suppose Mascherano and Torres were both moderately priced and that Rafa's not good enough to work within a (insert fatuously irrelevant net spend budget here) because that's "unrealistic".

And does it matter if the stadium is funded on loans, and player signings and wages. Either way we the fans pay for it. No matter who owns the club.

Here are our options: we could let the Americans have a continued bash at it, see where that goes or we the fans could take over club and appoint someone to run the club, then we'd have nobody else to blame if it goes tits up.

Or we could just hand over the club to bunch of rich Arabs, and hope they throw money at us and or that they know how to run a successful football club.

And people are happy with this?

True, but its also possible that DIC has the clout to carry the purchase cost until the stadium is built (which I'm sure would be financed by debt) and then start to reap their rewards.

G&H clearly did not have the wherewithall to do that - hence the refinancing.

Anyway, discussing their relative merits is a bit pointless until something definitive happens - it's just speculation on top of speculation

Of course it boils down to money, always have been.

Signing Torres and Mascherano is a start in the right direction.

Yes it is an assumption, but the fact remains that they are hugely successful in the majority of their businesses.I agree, they must be thinking of profits, but they also must realise that in order to make the profits they would need to invest heavily in the short term in order to realise profits in the long term.

I am no expert, only what my friend Google tells me.But i am very impressed with their portfolio and the way that everthing on it is truly world class.

These guys don't do things in halves.

We can't totally dissmiss the Americans as failures because they sanctioned some very good signings but at what cost in the long run?

Thats what i'm very uncomfortable with.

My gut feeling is that DIC purchasing Liverpool would be a huge asset for them,a kind of show piece if you like and they would want to really show off their much publicised,(over here and stateside) NEW asset.

I had not really heard of DIC before they were linked with Liverpool last year and just by being linked with us,they have been publicised all over the place.

They would give us a platform to really compete with the very top teams.

They are winners and no one can come on here and say they are not.

I want a piece of that and really think that DIC would offer us that.

Liverpool is huge and they will take full advantage of the full potential of the club.

Defo. This is the endgame, no doubt. Money guy on Talk****e (I know!) who seems to know his stuff seemed to think it's just a question of getting the price sorted out. He also said that you always state you have no intention to sell until you receive the offer you want so don't read too much into Fat *******'s recent denials.
I think this now has a certain degree of inevitability about it. DIC WILL get the club I think on their terms.

Realistically though, are we worth more than 400million as it stands right now ?

Probably not simple because we need to build a new stadium.
